Default NEED HELP!!! - 08 sti clutch fork doesnt work with 08 sti trans swap into 02 wrx

hey i was wondering if someone could help me out with a small problem im having. i recently posted the 08+ 6 speed swap thread which im updating according to how my swap goes to help others out. Im having an issue with the clutch fork. im currently running a 257 sb with 205 heads with a wrx 5 speed which im now swapping to an 08 six speed. the car has a stock wrx flywheel on it with an act clutch - no sti clutch or flywheel. now i just got the trans in and when the trans is mated to the engine and the clutch fork pin is inserted, the clutch fork arm sits too far back to get the slave cylinder bolted to the trans. this is the 08 sti clutch fork that im using. i have the slave from the 08 sti and the mounts and pin on it look very similar to my wrx slave cylinder so for now im just trying to bolt up my stock wrx slave cylinder. i read that when doing a six swap u must use the 6 speed fork and it didnt work for me. so then i figure since its still a wrx clutch id switch it with the wrx fork and it is roughly the same, maybe a bit farther back. is there anything im missing or doing wrong??? any help would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!! thanks

can someone maybe post or show me a picture of an sti clutch fork from 04 to 07? i think it will be different than the wrx and the 08 sti clutch fork.

and i will update the 08+ sti 6 speed swap thread i made as i do this so no one will have to deal with this bs again! lol

this is because you are using the stock clutch.

the STi pressure plate sits farther back then the stock WRX.

that's because the STi flywheel has risers.

I'm not sure how other people got their wrx clutches to work with the STi tranny. But I avoiding that by changing out the flywheel /clutch to a STi one.

yea im well aware that the wrx runs a completely different clutch/flywheel setup than the sti. i also got the flywheel/clutch setup from the sti but i would rather not use it seeing that it is a stock clutch that got some trans fluid on it by the guy i bought it from and the disc is pretty worn. also the clutch already on the motor is a 5 speed act clutch on a stock flywheel. I just wanna know what is involved to run a 5 speed clutch on a six speed. Ive heard that all you have to do is use the six speed fork and if thats true then subaru must have made changes to the clutch fork in 08 so i must track down an 04 to 07 fork.

anyone know????

Listen. They are different like the post above. It sucks having tranny fluid on the pressure plate, but you will need to go w/the clutch, flywheel, and pressurplate of the tranny you are putting in there. Idk how you're using your stock slave, but more power to you. I had to swap out the pressure plate, clutch, flywheel, fork and my slave for it to work out, and I'm driving just perfectly now.

Like I said, more power to you if you make this frankenstein work out...
