Default Clunking during sharp cornering

I own a 2003 WRX with 120k on it. Just replaced timing belt and clutch. Now after the clutch was replaced I noticed that in sharp cornering under low speeds I would hear a clunking noise. My mechanic told me it was the axels, so I replaced the front axels. The sound continues....

No clunk at high speeds, or driving straight. Only at slow speeds with the wheel turned to he right or left.

Cloud this be an engine mount and transmission mount?

Any thought process to help would be great. Thank you.

Center diff if it only does it after the car is hot. Loose mounts if it does it all the time.

Sounds like it's most likely the center diff going up. I've seen a lot of them go bad with higher miles. Like drewmob posted, it will do it once the trans warms up.

let the car sit dead cold and do some tight turns/circles. then drive the car a little to get the trans temp up then do it again, if it starts binding up the center diff is failing

I learned a LONG time ago, give credit where credit is due.. just like respect its earned not simply given...

If the axle was replaced via the upper knuckle bolts there's a good chance that its not known...

Definitely front outer CV joints worn. Replace with OEM ones! Or replace complete driveshafts that are good, not worn out second hand ones.

Cheers

Thank you all for your help with diagnosing my WRX. I am pretty confident that it is the center dif. I'll have to take it in for service. It kills me every time I hear it clunking when I pull in and out of my driveway. Thank you all again.

I finally got it figured out. You were right it was the center diff and I got it replaced. I am really happy to have all this support with my WRX. THANK YOU ALL
