Default 05 STi seems to be somewhat cold blooded?

Seem to notice more lately that my AP Stage 1 equipped STi doesnt like being cold. Even after it seems to be warm, the temp guage will be reading past the first dash after the starting dash, but like in 5th at about 2500 rpm's, if I lay in to the gas, there seems to be a stumble. After a few times it goes away,....its almost like it has to clear its throat a bit. I filled up with a different gas than usual, maybe it dont like this stuff? Or maybe its time to reset the ECU? I have had AP S1 installed since they came out for the 05's, maybe Oct, Nov? I have never reset the ECU.

lol.. why are you laying on the gas at 2500rpm in 5th? seems stupid to me... 5th isnt made to be a high accelleration gear at 2500rpm, you arent even into boost at that point.

I guess you got the wrong impression here, I am not hammering it, just goosing it and holding it there a bit.

You don't need to reset the ECU. The other thing is that you're engine might not be entirely warm yet. Remember, just because your coolant is warm, doesn't mean your oil is necessarily ready for the engine to be pounced on.

Of course, it could be the gas. I haven't had any stumbles with mine.

Well, I never rag on it ever with the engine cold, I always wait untill its at atleast one line above the beginning line for water temp, and even then I only get on it moderately, but I have never thought about oil maybe still being cold.

yep, you're oil takes ALOT longer than the coolant to come up to operating temp
