42k mile WRX? Too high?
I found a deal for a 40k mile WRX in the area for $17,900 and a little unsure if I should pick her up...yea, a little expensive but its a good deal for around here (NORTH CAROLINA). Believe me, Ive looked everywhere.
Im new to Subaru...how long do they last? I will be autocrossing and of course the mods will come over time. But is 40k miles a little too much?? How long should I expect it to last? Im used to hearing about Hondas lasting forever if properly maintained (previous car is an Integra) but what aabout a WRX??? It will be a daily driver as well as a weekend racer. Thanks guys

too bad you are so far away, I would probably sell you my 21k mile car for that much.

every car can last forever if properly maintained and driven. Considering you'll be auto-x and modding it, it will have a shorter life span. There's only few people out there with over 100k on their WRX and I'm sure they haven't modded or auto-x'ed their car. I'd say depends on what mods and how often you go auto-x'ing, but it should still last you 200k if you treat it right in between times and make sure everything is always above par.

You might want to check out www.autotrader.com. Just a quick search found these cars with either many fewer miles or lower price:
http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...r=&cardist=156 http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...r=&cardist=174 http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...r=&cardist=129 http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...r=&cardist=157 http://www.autotrader.com/fyc/vdp.js...r=&cardist=169 Whatever you end up going for, don't forget to pay for a mechanic to do a "used car inspection" on it before you close the deal -- should run around $100-150. PS -- I'd look at cars 2-3 hours' drive away if I could save $1000-2000 |
