Default dual exhaust wrx sound clip

Here is my dual exhuast sound clip. It was taken at midnight mayhem at las vegas motor speedway. We are going to redo the clip considering how dark it was (you can barely see the dual tips on the pavement shadow) and the stadium had music blaring at the same time. Anyways, I also made some passes while I was there. The slip below was my race against a mopar stage 1, 2.4 turbo, 5 speed pt cruiser (Basically a heavier neon srt-4). My mods are K&N drop in filter, perrin uppipe, custom catback, 18" koneg spec w/225 40 18 kumho ecsta asx, tein s-tech springs and cobb stage 2 brake upgrade. Bosal down and cobb accesport to follow when I get the cash. As you can tell I demolished him off the line, but once he hooked his fronts he started to gain on me .

Based on your timeslip, you should be able to drop almost .25 to .5 sec from your 60' time. just dont drop the clutch, or burn it up by slipping it too much.

I love the sound this thing makes. The same night, a completely stock 05 wrx was making passes in the 14.90-15.00 at 90 mph. But I am not the best drag racer in the world. When my car was two months old I took it to the drags in st george utah and ran a 15.31 @ 90.12 mph. Minus the altitude and my mods, plus the extra rotating mass of my wheels. I think it sounds reasonable. A pro driver would definately make a faster time.

That exhaust is bangin! Good lord is that ever sweet.

Here's my question, other than the WRX reving quicker, would the same exhaust taken off the WRX and put on a 2.5i sound the same or very similar? I'm guessing the throaty aggressive growl is due to the boxer configuration much more so than whether or not a turbo is involved?

Thanks, My exhaust is unique to my wrx and seems to have a bit more "growl" than manufactured exhaust systems, but something similar should sound about the same regardless of displacement or turbo.

Can't argue with that... your exhaust is one of the best I've ever heard. On any car.

That very well may be possible, because I plan on the accessport first, then I'll probably take it to the track. Then I'll get the downpipe and go stage 2 and go to the track. Now if that darn money tree will start producing...

I thought that wrx's ran low 14's stock. If were running in the 15 second rnge then it seems that my 05 isn't much faster than a freaking intergra? Say it ain't so

Your car is a lot faster than an integra, but what you are comparing is the difference in sea level and driving skill. At sea level with a professional driver your times should be similar to the numbers below. If I converted my times to sea level they would be 14.415 @ 95.57, even with my 18s. Trap speed indicates horsepower and time indicates the quality of launch and driver skill.
2002 Subaru Impreza WRX Sport Wagon
Drivetrain layout Front engine, awd
Engine type Turbocharged F-4, alum block/heads, LEV, DOHC, 4 valves/cyl
Displacement, ci/cc 121.7 / 1994
Max horsepower @ rpm 227 @ 6500
Max torque @ rpm 217 @ 5000
Transmission 5-speed manual
Suspension, front; rear MacPherson struts, anti-roll bar/Chapman struts, dual-link, anti-roll bar
Brakes, f;r 11.4-in vented disc; 10.3-in solid disc, ABS
Wheels 16x6.5-in cast alum (std)17x7.0-in cast alum (opt)
Tires 205/55R16 Bridgestone Potenza RE92 (std) 215/45R17 Bridgestone Potenza RE011 (opt)
Curb weight, lb 3165
Seating capacity 5
Cargo capacity, cu ft 27.9 / 61.1 (up/folded)
Fuel capacity, gal 15.9
Test Data
(std 16-in tires / opt 17-in tires)
0-60 mph, sec 5.8 / 5.9
1/4 mile, sec @ mph 14.44 @ 93.41 / 14.62 @ 92.31

Braking, 60-0 mph, ft 125 / 125
600-ft slalom, mph 63.0 / 65.0

On my first run of the night I ran a 14.815 @ 92.66 against a bone stock 2004 acura rsx-s 6-speed. He ran a 16.581 @85.73, but he was having trouble launching. Last time I checked the rsx-s is faster than an integra.

Well if you had a single exhaust = less weight than a dual exhaust. Dual Exhaust is really pointless to have on a WRX unless you're just goin for looks. Also loose the 18in heavy Konigs and put your stock WRX rims, you might get into the high 13s .
