Default 2009 WRX turbo size

I've heard two different things about the size of the 09 WRX turbo size. 1. it's the same as the STI's
2. it's in between the old WRX and STI's

Which is true? or have i heard wrong.

Funny, my buddy that had an 09 WRX kept telling me over and over again that his 09 had the same turbo as my 08. I laughed, and owned him with the right information

It's sad how many people are misinformed about these cars.

FACT: The turbine and compressor are the same size dimensionally as the STi's VF39/43/48. The compressor cover is of the LGT/+08WRX fitment variety(2 bolt flange pointing at 12o'clock). It is NOT the same turbo as any model year STi however wheel dimensions & performance potential are the same as a stock STi turbo.
