Default stainless steel exhaust valves or oem

the machienest has my motor right now and it apears that ive ended up with 8 bent exhaust valves. so now i have the option of replacing them with oem or trying to find stainless steel ones, yes stainless steel are more resistant to heat and could possibly be lighter but are they really nessasary? im going to be pushing limits with this motor so this might be a good time to upgrade, but only if its something worth doing. also my mechanic thinks they bent from my high lift cam and not having the pistons machiened down enough to clear.

can someone direct me to somewhere that might carry these so i can price them out and check on availability...

thanx, jay

here's the link to the cobb valves http://cobbtuning.com/impreza/enginehead3.html#valves

If you plan on running extremely high combustion temperatures, from turbo or nitrous, then upgrading the stock valves to our Extreme-Duty Valves will give you the protection you need against bent or warped valves.

Custom built from Nickelvac Super Alloy material, these valves are an exact replacement for the stock units to hold up to extreme heat of 1850 degrees F while maintaining light weight, high tensile strength and excellent resistence to thermal fatigue. These valves are the only suitable replacement we’ve found for the high quality Stainless Steel valves Subaru uses in the stock cylinder heads. Don’t be fooled by others trying to make an easy sell, there are lesser quality aftermarket stainless steel valves which don’t compare to the quality of the stock valve – nor do they come with a hardened tip required for long life. (ask before you buy!)

For valve head diameter, we experimented with many different sizes in a quest to find higher flow rates, and ultimately found that the stock size makes the most sense. The higher weight from bigger valves could not offset the marginal flow improvements. Additionally, research in valve to seat angles and undercutting the valve with proper dimensions have shown significantly higher flow improvement without increase valve size and weight. These valves are not cheap, and we realize it’s easier to sell an oversized valve. However, we offer real solutions, and the reality of it is that oversized valves are not necessary in these heads. Flow benches and dynos don’t lie.
