so since I have had trouble finding 17x8.5's for my 07 STI what is the best offset in 17x9??? +42??
I have KW Coilovers, a slight roll and a slight pull already from the previous owner but I really would rather be as far in as I can be without clearance problems. I was hoping to use 255/35/17's???? |

+42 will be the most common good offset. 255/40/17.

I was just going back in to edit the size to 255/40/17 when I saw your post.
do you think there will be any rubbing at all as I am lowered quit a bit, maybe 1.5" all around? also who has the least expensive lightweight wheels in this size 17x9 +42?? or would a +48 work as well |

Wheels are entirely too wide, tires are 5 to 6 sizes too small, and it won't work on your stock suspension.

You'll probably have to roll and pull the fenders and run some serious (2-4 degrees) negative camber. And you'll have to pay off whatever shop is going to try to stretch a 215 on a 9.75" wheel, because no reputable shop is going to be ok with mounting something like that.
In other news, forgive me for not searching through almost 40 pages of info, but I recently sold my Legacy for a 2006 WRX wagon and kept my set of wheels. They are 18x8.5 +48 and I am curious to know if they'll fit my wagon with about a 1-2" drop without rubbing or if I'll have to roll the fenders or run negative camber. |

My sincerest apologies. I've never had experience trying to stretch a tire too narrow to properly seat on a wheel.

Well les schwab isn't reputable, and discount tire isn't really any better.
So I'd say your statement was accurate |
