What your saying isn't possible. STi 5th totally stock goes to 130+ and the tires u put on r making your gearing slightly higher so even less possible. Your in 5th just to pick up the last few MPH of the 1/4.

Earl is consistently hitting 1.6's from low to high. The left lane 60ft sensor in the track at Sacraceway is broken a couple weeks back. Humm I might have to find my 91 octane slip with my untuned vf39 with just a turboback hitting 12.7 if I can recall so I can be on the list.

I was able to run a 13.9 and the trap speed was only around 80 some MPH. What RPM do you launch and what RPM do you guys shift at?

Id take 13.2 but no luck at least getting into the 13's what rpm do you launch and what RPM do you shift at? Are you guys running boost controllers?
Thanks

Yeah, what BlueStinger said. 60' sensor was'nt working. Sorry.

If i was to "guess", it has to be no worse than 2.0

Track temps was in the high 80s when we ran. When it gets cooler in a few weeks, i "feel" like she still has another 10th in her. Stay tuned.

Now my best time is a 13.0 actually (and I am roughly stage 2 which means my driving sucks IMO). Once I get into the 12s I will post a slip. I have the Hydramist heading my way and may possibly get an in person tune from Phil in the near future. Hopefully that will happen before the local tracks shut down. Anyway, I launch my revving to about 3k RPMs and at the second yellow I floor the gas pedal, when the tach hits almost 6k RPMs I let out on the clutch really fast (not a sidestep). That is just enough to get some wheelspin off the launch, which is a good thing IMO. As for shifting, stock STi was best shifted somewhere around 6200 (1-2) and then 6k or 5.8k through the rest. I am shifting around 6200 or 6300 through most gears due to my current tune, but I am not so sure I can't find a better shift point.

Curious what sort of 60s you see doing this?

Have you tried shifting higher? I haven't seen your dyno plot but that seems low..

Yeah I didn't know about the forums back in the days, or else I could have posted different times from all the turbos I've ran in the past. Too bad I no longer have slips to show.

My 60' is usually high 1.7x which I am pretty happy with. I really need more work on the 1-2 shift if anything. I still have to play around with the shift points, but I can tell you that it is somewhere in that area for me.

I wonder the impact you'd see when shifting at 6500-6800? It's always a bit different for each car, as I'm sure you're aware, but some stock sti's will even get their best times shifting at redline.

Interesting, to say the least.

Yea..my car seemed to do well at redline, stock.

If gettin great times was easy as following a 1-2-3 step program for launching/shifting we would see alot more cars running faster then they are currently.

I immediately drive around the water box pull right up and completely stage as fast as possible then rev it to 5k and just hold it there while my opponent does his burnout and stages then do the "I stepped in dog crap move"= fast but smooth clutch release will flooring it.

But yeah everyone say to shift to low i think. I shift at redline in 1st then 6800 the rest of them. I've never actually seen any1 w/ a really impressive stock time shifting as low as most say to do.

I beleive the secret to good times obviously a 60' of at least 1.7 but then 1-2 is prob the most important if u watch most people they bog the car hitting 2nd. Believe or not but on the strip i chirp the tires hitting 2nd.

I think questions were asked so a starting point or baseline could be established easier.

I wasn't implying questions shouldn't be asked. Just lamenting the difficulty in discovering your own unique method of driving..

These were my best 2 of 3 runs tonight(#7650), and my first runs ever with a 93 pump Protune. Can't wait to run the race map next Sunday!

P.S. I did not care about R/T tonight, I'm pretty adept in that department when I want to be.
