Ap V1 Won't Unmarry Help!!
Hey folks,
So i'm working on selling my COBB AP V1 from my 02 wrx. ..only problem is that when i try to "Revert to stock" the tuner gives me an error message and won't unmarry. Heres how it goes: It prompts me to "turn the car fully off and then back on and press: ok" When i do this it says: "ERROR Please try operation again" I can turn the car off and on as much as i want, but it still always gives the same error. I Have the Initialization connector plugged in, the green test mode connectors are together and it still does the same thing. Is my AP just dysfunctional? i don't understand. I've switched between maps before and everything goes fluidly without a hiccup. Can somebody please help?? Thanks, -Doug

If that does happen, then it may be your timing when you are starting the process. Try it again and make sure you are turning the ignition to ON. When you turn the ingition to ON you need to immediately hit the button to start the process (keep your finger over it so you are ready). Bill |

Bill,
Yes, the fans are cycling and the CEL flashes, so the car is definitely in test mode. Is there any chance maybe i mixed up the init connectors, or are they year specific? and should i get any recognition from the AP when i plug it in about the car being in test mode or intitializing or anything? It just goes straight to the main menu screen when i plug it in. Thanks a lot, -Doug |

You should be using the blue initialization connector - you might want to check it to make sure the connector is good. Bill |

Bill, I tried messing around with my timing a little bit and there's no change in the result. I still get the error when i press okay. I don't know what to do besides keep trying it over and over and over. The car is going into test mode and the fans will cycle, CEL flashes etc. The AP seems to be acting as if its not even connected IMO. When i select the ok button, it goes directly to the error screen. It does the same thing if its not even connected to the car. There's no stutter or pause or anything before it goes to that screen, which seems fishy to me (but then again i'm quite the opposite of a technology-savvy person). Could something be wrong internally? but then why do all of the other functions perform normally? Very confused. Thanks for the help, -Doug Update, just looked at the plug on my AP connector and the wires (where the cable enters the back of the OBD2 connector) are pulled out and visible. i see 9 wires in total. 1-green, 1-purple, 1-black} all of which are clipped short as if never plugged into anything. Grey, yellow, red, blue, orange}all seem to be firmly connected and then brown} looks as if it pulled away from its solder possibly? is this my problem? Also, the car does not exit test mode when i select either revert to stock or change base map. Thanks, -Doug Last edited by doughboy118; 11-02-2011 at 10:29 AM. |
