Use your hands!

Duh.

But seriously, I'd think you find a ladder and just mash every button until something works (or you blow yourself up).

I could be wrong, but I thought it was up-up-down-down-left-right-left-right-b-a-select-start.

Well, you could hit start before select if you wanted a one player game. Of course then there would be no point to hitting select. And this code was good for more games than just Contra.

Good ole Contra - the code is actually...

up-up-down-down-left-right-left-right-b-a-b-a-start

Of course, you push select before start if you want 2 players.

[ON TOPIC]

Never found a ladder in Vice City. I just use a chopper if I want to get on a building.

i almost got stuck in a pool somewhere on Vice City, luckily it was shallow on the other end of the pool. Deep end had a ladder that I too couldnt figure out how to get up.

The Konami code is:

up-up-down-down-left-right-left-right-b-a

Anything after that is ignored and instead put into the game. So you can add as many ba-ba-ba-ba-select whatever after it.

This worked in almost all Konami games, and some non-konami games (normally killed you)

On the SNES, use the top L and R buttons for the left and right.
