Question How to put a 2007 usdm sti 6 speed into my 2003 WRX

Searched but to no avail. If it's somewhere, sorry for posting this.

So lemme lay it out simple. 2007 usdm sti 6 speed transmission. 2003 wrx. What will I need to complete this swap WHILST keeping the stock r160?

I only ask about these specific years because I read the 07 usdm sti rear diff is 3.54 just like WRX's now so this swap should be easier than in the past. Thanks all.

Did you do the swap? What do I need from the sti - tranny, linkage, shifter, clutch + flywheel setup... anything else?

depends on which swap you do. i went full out. 5x114 hubs,r180, brembos front and rear etc. if you want to keep stock brakes you will need shorter drive shaft(auto), 04 sti axle front stubs w/ clips. there are several good sticky thread w/ links to other swpa threads that are very useful. read up and get a plan and budget before you start buying parts.

there are little things you will need to, fly wheel bolts for example, wrx has less than sti.

I've been reading and I've successfully done an 04 sti into a wrx, but I thought the 07 was slightly different.

I plan on keeping the WRX rear brakes (have 2 pots w/kartboy adapters) and alerady have 04 sti brembo fronts with my factory WRX axles. I plan on keeping the r160 as well so i guess the auto DS is in order.

bookmarking this as I am also interested in this swap with the good 07 ratios. I can't imagine how much one will cost right now though

Just wondering, how did the wiring harnesses match up? I know mine will be different being an 04 6 Speed but i don't know if i will have to hard wire it in...

I have an 2007 sti limited tranny in my 02 WRX using stock R160 diff. Contact east coast swappers (http://eastcoastswappers.com/) (they did my install). There is a kit that they use to mate the drive shaft and axles to the tranny.
