It seems most people are goin the 17" route any reason?

I've got 2 sets in mind
18x8.5 +44

17x8 +44

Looking at the rota grids

Reasons why I want 17"

-cheaper wheels and tires
-larger wheels are weaker, and Im paranoid about cracks and bends
-I have a 2nd set of 17" tires already
-18" are heavier, though it may or may not be offset by the thinner and lighter tires

Im looking for bronze wheels but I am going to plastidip my wheels bronze first to see if I like it.

I somewhat agree. Although, you are mostly right about bigger being heavier and possibly weaker, on my Si I had a set of Volk GTN 2 pieces. They were 18x7.5 +38 and forged. Weighed only 18 pounds. That's less than the 16" BBS's that came on the Neon SRT4 ACR. It mostly comes down to wheel quality. Plus, those Volks could handle any of the worst PA potholes without even flinching.

Personally, I'm still torn. I'm considering some 04 STI BBS's, some Buddyclub P1's, a variety of other BBS's, etc. I'm not big into fake wheels - although my credit card may be. I'd rather pay more for quality.

I may just be getting a set of 17x7 BBS RK's off a friend for now to replace my stock Sports, then get new wheels once the springs/coils are finally released.

Anyone have any opinions on these 2 wheels and what size tires I'd be better off running. I plan to stay at stock height for the considerable future. I cannot lower, I need ground clearance for winter plus my god awful driveway. I have considered sticking with 17" and using the stock wheels for winter and just putting winter tires on them. It depends on if I think the 17"s with a little thicker tire would look better @ stock height vs 18. I have seen pics of other rides here... for some reason some look fine @ stock height and others look high.

I know both of these rims will fit, I am thinking getting from tire rack, and both of these wheel manufacturers I'm familiar with at least, so I'm hoping they're a good quality wheel?

http://www.victoriatire.com/wheel_KO...8TPMS%29_17_17

I was thinking a 225/40/18 would be the best tire to run, either that or a 235/40/18?

This is the car they'd be going on, if/when I decide I want wheels or not:

Great thread so far, lots of great information on this site!

I am no wheel expert but Ive done a good amount of research on wheels for my impreza. I think Konigs are a more reputable brand while still being on the lower end of the wheels. I have been looking into kazera wheels as well but cannot find anything questionable, quality wise. I would base the final decision on looks/price/weight.

On 8" wide tire I would feel confident with anywhere from 205-245. There are advantages to thin and wider tires. I would stick with 205-215 myself but it probably wont make a noticeable difference besides looks.

I would love to hear how well they fit with stock suspension - fender clearance, strut clearance and steering lock to lock room. What size rubber do you plan on recruiting?

I called and asked if they were for the N/A 2.0i Impreza, and they said yes. Give them a call to double verify, it only takes about three minutes.

Damn. Was more trying to spend ~250 on springs, not ~1,000 on coils.. But who knows. lol Just may do it.

Picking up wheels tomorrow it sounds like. Trading my stock Sports with tires for a set of mint 17x7.5 +48 (I think) Rota Attacks in silver (Gram Light 57c reps) with tires. I'll share a few pics if I do..
