Default Towing/Hitch thread

Let's see your hitch installation and what you tow! Details on any special installation needs (longer exhaust hangers, exhaust clearance, etc) might be helpful information for people looking to do this.

I'll start this one out...

I picked up a drawtite hitch, thule hitch-mounted fork mount bike rack and thule rack-n-loc classic hitch-mounted bike rack last weekend. It took about an hour to install. It clears the prodrive oval tip axel back with use of 3 kartboy XL exhaust hangers.

I'll be using the hitch for the bike racks and for towing my motorcycle to and from track days. I still need to pick up a small trailer for the motorcycle.

Pic of the hitch installed:

Drawtite hitch bar - 24710

APS 3" single tip tbe
stock hangers- these are pulled very snug, but this keeps from the tbe from resonating against the bar itself.

I love my 3" APS, doesn't drone at all, plenty loud but not too loud. It is a great exhaust all around.

Bah, never had a SINGLE problem... the cars been sold and now approching 200k on the ODO(I keep in touch with the buyer)... nary an issue... had the clutch replaced at ~90k after towing a LOT of different things, wasn't due to slipping either, the TOB was starting to go and making noise......

Give the subie a little more cred than that man... Unless you've done it, you REALLY don't know whatch you talkin about...mang...

no pics yet but i added 2ft onto my trailer this past weekend (now 5x10) and we threw my 400ex on as well as my buddys 700 grizzly which is huge and weighs close to 700lbs gased up, the massive 140hp 2.2L tugged them around fairly well, we're taking them about 2 1/2 hrs away this weekend riding so we'll see how she does, i'll get a pic up too

we figured total weight was right around 1300lbs, not as much as some have towed on here but it was enough for the 2.2L

2000lbs

I have a hitch from Curt which I got from etrailer.com. I've towed boats, snow moblies, and pulled stuff out of ditches in the snow, but I use it mostly for my dirtbike trailer (harbor freight trailer) which I also use for my Harley for when bike week comes around.
