Greg,

I've tried contacting you guys via email and left a detailed voice message.

Can you or Anthony please give me status on my order?

It was for Invoice #5189. Everything except for the Kartboy shift lever was supposed to be in stock. I'm assuming you were waiting for the lever to come in to ship all at once.

Please advise.

Thanks,
Mike

I am pretty happy with my dealings with MauroMotorsports. I can understand the frustration with the order tracking system though, my shipping item didn't show up until 8PM or so the night before I got my stuff. I emailed several of their available e-mail accounts with an identical message asking if there was an issue with my order and I received a polite message quickly thereafter with my order status.

And I am still waiting for my uppipe from Invidia.

+1 when I get my uppipe.

Got my stuff.. +1 for MauroMotorsports. Pleasure to deal with!
Thanks again Anthony!

I think Ant's waiting for a stocking order of Tanabe's to come in. I think you ordered the SPT struts correct? Those are at the office already. E-mail me if you have any other questions.

Mauro Motorsports is by far the worst I have ever dealt with.

I ordered an AVCR, a TurboSmart BOV, an SPT exhaust, new chin spoilers and fog covers for my STI. (some $1,489.00 worth of stuff with shipping)

After about 2 weeks the chin spoilers and fog covers came in, but it turned out that they sent 2 drivers side fog covers and no passanger side one. Anthony emailed me to say that they seemed to have an extra passanger side one in stock and would send out one overnight along with a shipping label for the return one. That was the end of August, and DHL shows the overnight shipment was created in the system, but that Mauro never actually shipped it out. Tracking number is 17488522052 created August 29th.

When I placed the order I was told that they had a bunch of AVCRs on the shelf, and the BOV too I think. Anthony said in an email on the 29th of August (after I tried to cancell the order because it was obvious they were not going to ship it);

""I'm not sure what you mean by the balance of the order has already been
cancelled....we shipped out the AVC-R and blow off valve a few days ago. If
you no longer need them then please ship them back when they arrive for a
refund.""

This too is a lie. I checked with DHL, and no other order (besides the one that had the chin spoilers and fogs in it) has been shipped, and only the overnight fog shipment was created but never shipped ( you all can check on the DHL site using the tracking number above).

I have had to dispute the charges with my credit card company, because even though they never shipped the items,..they charged my credit card on August 15th, right when I placed the order

He did finally refund the amount for the exhaust on August 31st, but that still leaves $868.99 for the AVCR, BOV, one fog light cover and some shipping that he has not credited as of October 4th.

Anthony at Mauro received the incorrect foglight cover I shipped him back (at my expense) on the 15th Of September.

He emailed me on the 17th of September stating that he had gotten it and would be crediting me the money he owed me (He said $12xx.00 when in fact he owes me $868.99)

I emailed him back about the amount only being the $868.99. No response.

Today is the 4th of October and still there is no refund.

It should be noted that acording to my credit card companies,....Very few online merchants charge credit cards before the items ship. Anthony (Mauro Motorsports) would have you believe that the practice of charging your card for things they do not have,...and then trying to see if they are available,...is a normal way of doing business. YEAH RIGHT!

Anthony uses as an example of long wait being justified his having waited a year for some custom wheels to be made. I was told the AVCR was "on the shelf". How is that the same as having a set of custom wheels made for me in Italy? (In case you are wondering.....It's NOT!)

MAURU CHARGES YOUR CARD FOR PARTS THEY DO NOT HAVE OR WILL NOT SHIP,....AND THEN DOES NOT REFUND OUR MONEY. BOTTOM LINE. He also lies like a rug. I have many proofs of this. I have collected his emails, furum statements , docs from DHL and docs from the credit card company for my attorney.

Here's a link to another forum where lots of unhappy SUbbie owners have stated their experiences with Mauro. Not flattering! My experiences begin at about page 9.

Here are postys from the wrxclub forum. More unhappy members.

Think about it,....32 pages of drama on this site alone so far. Hmmmm. A hint possibly?

Recently, I've had a very bad experience with Mauro Motorsports (www.Mauromotorsports.com) that I feel I should share.
In late May, 2006, I placed an order via telephone for a Perrin inlet pipe, turboxs tmic, and a Deadbolt Monster 16g turbo. Greg from Mauro told me the turbo would take about 1.5 weeks to be built and shipped. I received an invoice on May 25th, but I did not receive any tracking numbers. My tmic arrived in about a week, and shortly after, my inlet hose arrived. I figured my turbo would be at my doorstep shortly. I was wrong.

On June 16th, I was getting annoyed. It had been about 3 weeks since I paid for my turbo, and received no product. I sent Mauro an email:

Quote:
My name is Tyler. I've spoken with you a few times through email and phone. I placed an order with you several weeks ago for a Perrin inlet hose, txs tmic, and a deadbolt monster 16g. The intercooler and inlet hose arrived in a timely manner. I called about a week ago to check up on the turbo, you said it was being built at Deadbolt. I would just like to find out where the turbo is at this point. It's been almost three weeks since I ordered it. Can I have a tracking number or something? When can I expect its arrival? Thanks.

-Tyler

This email went unanswered. After sending this and getting no response, I began trying by phone, many many times, and the calls were RARELY answered. I left numerous messages. When I finally got through to them, I was told they would contact Deadbolt to get a tracking #, and they would definitely call me right back. They never returned the call.

On June 23rd, I still had no turbo, and thus sent this email to Mauro. At this point I felt like getting my money back. I paid a lot of money for this turbo, and had not recieved it in about a month, with little to no communication from Mauro, not even a tracking #.

Quote:
My name is Tyler B********. I placed an order with you (Mauro Motorsports) on May 25th, 2006 for a Perrin inlet hose, Turboxs tmic, and a Deadbolt Monster 16g turbo. The inlet hose and intercooler arrived in a timely manner (even though I never received a tracking number or any kind of notification stating that they had been shipped). You told me it would take about a week and a half for the turbo to be built and shipped. It has now been about 1 month since I placed this order, and the turbo has not arrived. When and if you answer your phone (I have called dozens of times, gotten no answer, and have left messages, never to be returned) you tell me you will contact Deadbolt to give me the status of my order, and you say you will email me a tracking number right away or call me back in a few minutes. I get no email, and no return phone call.
If the turbo is not at my house by Tuesday, June 27th, I would just like my $945 refunded. I am sorry it has come to this, but I am tired of sending emails and getting no response, or making phone calls which aren't answered. Attached is my invoice, which you sent me on the 25th of May.

-Tyler

On the following Monday, I received a response to this email:

Quote:
The turbo will be shipped out from Deadbolt either today or tomorrow. I thank you for your patience with this matter, but we do not build the turbos and cannot help if there are lead times beyond our control.

Anthony Mauro
MauroMotorsports Owner

to which I responded:

Quote:
ok, may I please have a tracking number?

Thank you.
-Tyler

I was not emailed back about the tracking #. I had to continue calling, again not getting an answer. Finally, on July 5th, I contacted both Deadbolt (which I should have done a long time ago) and Mauro. Deadbolt was out of the office for 4th of July, and wouldn't be in until Thursday the 6th, so I left a message to have them call me back. Mauro told me they would have the turbo to me by the end of the week, and sent this email to me after we got off the phone:

Quote:
Tyler,

I should have tracking for your turbo either tonight or tomorrow morning. I am having it expedited so that you receive it before the week is over. I'm sorry about the delay on this, but sometimes it happens with these custom built turbos. Just hang in there and we'll have your turbo to you shortly....just like everything else you ordered and arrived rapidly.

Thanks for your patience and understanding

Deadbolt called me back on Thursday. They told me the turbo has been built for weeks, ready to be shipped, and the only reason it wasn't shipped is because Mauro NEVER SENT THEM THE MONEY UNTIL THAT POINT. Deadbolt then gave me a tracking #, so to Deadbolt, and : to Mauro Motorsports.

The turbo finally arrived yesterday, Monday July 10th, the same day Mauro sends me the tracking # and says :

Quote:
Sorry this took so long, but there was nothing we could do about the delay since we do not manufacture these turbos. Unfortunately custom turbos can sometimes be an issue, but you received everything else from us in a timely manner so I hope that you understand that this what out of our hands. Please remember that when you think about our service since you were well aware of the fact that you ordered a custom built part.

Thank you again,

Anthony Mauro
MauroMotorsports Owner

YES, I was well aware of the fact I ordered a custom part (the turbo was port and polished by Deadbolt). I was NOT aware of the fact that Mauro holds your money for over a month before having your product shipped.

It is a shame it all went down like that. I have ordered from Mauro in the past and had no problems, which is the main reason I ordered from them this time around. I guess I had trusted them to some degree when putting down the amount of money I did for the parts. I won't tell you forum members to not order from Mauro or anything, that's completely up to you, I just wanted to share my experience I had with them, after all, this is what this forum is for.

I ordered an exhaust from you guys on January 22nd, money was taken out of my account on like January 24th, and I still have NO exhaust on May 3rd. I have sent tons of e-mails over the last couple of months (a couple in the last two days) and get no response. I call for days in a row, leave messages with my number, and don't get called back. Every time I do get anyone on the phone nothing ever comes of it. I was told last Thursday that you guys had 20 of the exhausts in stock, but that mine got shipped to the wrong guy in RI. You said that you would take care of it and I would get it either that Friday or the following Tuesday. Well, it is the following Wednesday and I have still don't have what I paid for three months ago. And I have had no response to the e-mails I have sent over the last two days or any answer to my phone calls. Great way to treat someone when all I did was give you my business. I would like my exhaust or my money now."

DuckStu - Stuart, from what i understand there's been no satisfying you from the very beginning. Posting up issues from other customers on here is absolutely rediculous. From what i know you've already been refunded twice so why continue this on a public forum and almost every other forum you know of. The money that's allegedly owed to you is actually held up between two parties because of your dispute. This is very unprofessional and uncalled for and solves nothing.

Culmination - What are you waiting on? Please e-mail me.

Figured it out...Steve right? Looks like we overnighted and two day air'd a bunch of parts to you that you've already received. It looks like the passenger side base is the only part on backorder, but i think you were made aware of that. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Part received (and installed). Thanks for the 3rd day shipping.

My conclusion:
None of this would have been an issue if you guys had simply returned any one of my emails requesting a status. The estimated shipping time on the website is completely inaccurate: the parts that said "usually ships the next business day", took 6 weeks to get here. I know that it is an "estimate", but then at least answer emails and explain what is going on to the customers.

A simple email saying, "your order will ship in 3 weeks," is so much better than no replying at all. Answering each of my three emails would have completely diffused the situation.

If you have to order the part from somewhere else before you can ship it, then just be up front about it. Maybe it's just as simple as adjusting (raising) your estimated lead times on the website.

We normally stock the HKS hi-power in abundance because they are fast movers, which is why we have that product marked as "usually ships the next business day". Unfortunately you ordered just as we had run out of that exhaust...the timing just didn't work out I guess. Who were you e-mailing that you didn't get a response? [email protected]? This is the easiest way to get a fast response since I run this e-mail. Anthony isn't always at his desk to do so.
