Talking tow hitch

hi guys,
I was wondering if the 2002 wrx wagon would ever be able to fix to class 3 tow hitch to it? If it could, would it damage the suspension? I'm planning on getting the class 3 hitch to fix on the moto jack rack to transport a dirt bike. Any other advice on it?

Thanks for helping a newbie~

Why anyone would want to put a hitch on a WRX is beyond me. Or any car for that matter. I mean i am sure u can put a hitch on it and tow something but why would u want to do that to your WRX??? Rent a truck and beat on it!

I'm not sure what a moto-jack-rack is, nor do I own a WRX. However, I can tell you that the RSs had a max tounge weight of 200lbs, so if that moto-jack-rack thing is solely supported by the tounge of the hitch (and not tires of it's own) you may have to consider getting a small trailer. Surely a dirt bike weighs more than 200lbs. But on a lighter note, I towed a 1,000lb trailer from NJ to CA with my RS. The car was fully loaded, and not only did the RS handle fine but it didn't feel heavy. As such, your WRX should be able to drag a small dirt bike trailer around an autoX without losing much time!! hehe

I want the trailer to put the race tires on. Do you really think that I want to put those dirty tires (even in garbage bags) in the back of my brand new car?

hey guys I know the sportiness of WRX may not be well matched with a tow hitch but some things have to happen. By the way what is the Subaru manual say about attaching a hitch on a turbo Subi? (well I have the manual downstairs I will check)

A few notes to the people with the car should not tow anything "tude"..

In europe, england and other countries, they really don't have trucks as private vehicles, they tow everything with their car. I would think adding a clean hitch to tow A) a nice trailer for track tires and parts B) your jetski or 2 C), your dirt bike, street bike to a track etc. Is something the car should be able to handle with no issues.

Infact on the audi scene, there is a couple who tow their race 5000S quattro with another 5000S.. It's done, just do it safely. 2000lb towing limit is a 2000 towing limit, don't try to tow your ski boat to the lake with it

Just be smart.. Also remember, people put hitches for bike racks etc.

Again just some of my $.02 rambling.
