Regarding the gun/subie thing. USLiberty was going to ride with me, but has prior obligations in the morning. Would you guys be willing to meet up later in the morning at say, the maverick in Dewey? maybe 1030 11 ish? If not, we can definitely plan something another weekend before the whether goes to pot.

Later is better for me. How long will people be hanging out? I know, until the bullets are gone.

The location appears to be in thunder storms right now. I don't think my Volare would like that drive with active washes. I'm out.

Anyone in the Prescott area have a 1995 ej22 MAF I can borrow for a couple days? I'm getting seriously stuck figuring out why the go pedal isn't working.
Edit: Um, weird. I was just out looking at it and my MAF says JA36 000 RA0 which I can only find cross refs as being a 98+ Forester part. I have a 95 Legacy which seems should be A36 000 R60. Any thoughts on interchange? Last edited by doublechaz; 09-07-2015 at 02:45 AM. |

Does anyone need an 05-07 STi 6-speed front axle? I've got a spare and I'm trying to clear the garage.

I wish I could get either of mine on the road. They aren't new at all, but I'd still like to be waving the boxer banner.

It's alive! (this thread..)
Well, 3.5 years after my transmission swap/rebuild, my center diff is pooping out on me. At least it's not the whole transmission this time. I hope one of the imprezas out there has a good center diff at upickit. Might pick up another rear diff, too. Too lazy to rebuild mine. |

I've done quite a few timing belts, what car? Are you replacing the oil and water pump also?

It's been too long since I let anyone else wrench on my cars to know of a good mechanic around here. I hope someone else wanders in.
I do pay for alignments. I've been going to http://www.adamsautomotiverepair.com/ Some other alignment shops in the area have let me down. These guys do mechanic work as well, but I think they are pricey. Been very happy with the alignements. |

I usually only work on friend's cars and on weekends, unless my day job is slow. I usually do about 3-5 subaru timing belts/year. About a month ago I replaced a water pump in NAZSTI's GT35r equipped 04 STI. I've fabricated a tool for holding the cam gears in place, easy one man job now. Someone else had installed a non-oem water pump about a year ago and it was leaking out the weep hole. So if you decide to replace your water/oil pump, only get OEM. Gates timing belt kit seems to be okay, never had a problem with them.

Sure, its really not that bad if you have a good instructions. It probably won't go very smooth the first time and will take longer than expected. I've learned from mistakes so I have my own checks and balances I go through to make sure everything is good the first try. The water pump gasket can be a real pain as its kind of a crush gasket and if you pinch it, it will leak. I just use a light amount of fujibond(Subaru silicone) and glue the gasket to the pump the night before. That way there's no gasket alignment issues when your installing the pump in an awkward position.
