Question Gun people - Kimber Pro Tac II, or HK USP compact??? Yes, ANOTHER gun thread.....

Ok, so I've been out pistol shopping again, and I need some opinions quick...

I found a HK USP compact (.40S&W) today, NEW, for $599 w/case and two mags. Do I get this because it's a really good deal, or do I bite the (financial) bullet and get the Kimber Pro Tactical II for $899 that I've been drooling over???

Feel free to suggest something else, if you wish.

Which would YOU get? Opinions please. Thanks.

Agreed...in fact H&K along with Sig-Sauer define the pinnacle in small arms and side-arms.

Glock is third.
I think dude might have been thinking of Colt when it comes to "poo".

I'd go for the gun that you have shot several times and feel most comfortable with and will practice with. If both were even then hands down it would be the H&K USP.

BTW, where are you finding this low cost opportunity?

Just happened across the HK in a local gun shop today. It's becoming harder to find the HK compacts in stock anywhere. I previously owned a full-size USP 9mm, so I'm familiar with the HK's. Think I'll grab it, since it's such a good deal. Then I'll start saving up for the Kimber.....

I know.

My side-kick Tom and I went shooting at BlueRidge two weekends ago. We decided that we'll buy guns soon.

He's thinking to get a Sig P228 whihc is a compact (double stack) version of my last gun, P226. I'm thinking to get another P226 or an H&K in either .40 or .45 caliber. Though 9MM is cheaper for practicing.

Something will happen probably by Christmas.
Stay tuned...
