Offset doesn't affect the width. It affects how far the mounting surface of the wheel is from the center of the wheel. There's an excellent write-up in Unabomer's manifesto I believe

I understand it's not wider, but I figured that a +20 would have the spokes going in deeper in than a +35 right? I just want to see the actual difference not in some diagram.

Do you have a link?

that shouldn't be right.. +20 puts the hub in further and the lip out further than a +35

So pretty much on a wider wheel, the concave goes deeper correct?

Alright alright. Understandable... They should make a FAQ for XXR 527 wheels!

That would we awesome!

So if I want my wheels to pop out about 2 inches, what would be the best way to do that with doing as little wear and tear as possible on the bearings, and stuff?

17x10+20 with a stretched tire: 225/45/17 right?

and coils! no camber though, I don't like the look.

What do you mean by pop out?

And don't worry about your bearings. They're fine

^i think he means sticks out beyond then fender... and you'll have to do some camber on a 10" +20 regardless of coils

Let's say the red is the tire...

I don't like it and IMO it's going to look terrible, especially with the stretch but you're on the right track. And like Pidgeon said, you're probably going to have to run some camber regardless

I saw a soob on the road with the wheels popping out and it looked like chuck norris on crack... that's when I fell in love.

Wait.. camber? You mean make the wheel angled? Why?

Either way I could camber the wheels with coilovers.. but why?

Because the tire will be destroying the fender on that size wheel. Both of those ars have TONS of camber. And two inches is quite a lot. Have you looked through some of the Stanced Thread?

Well for many reasons , but mainly so your tires and wheels fit in you wheel Wells, and the cars you showed are sporting mad camberz... you might have better luck with your questions in the stanced thread, many owners have cars like you want to achieve

Oh I was already there. Not much stance there. Anyway, I'll just do 17x10+20 with 225/45/17 and be 50% satisfied.
