Clutch/Flywheel Replacement
Anyone know a good Auto shop in the New England area to conduct a clutch and flywheel replacement? I priced a couple places and got a $650 pricing and wasnt sure if that was too high. I would have parts in hand, and just need it to be replaced. All help is appreciated.

We do it for ~$425 if you are supplying all the parts.

How long would a job like that take? Same day? Since you are in RI it's a little bit of a drive for me.

Nope 1600 parts and labor .. Nashua Subaru bent be over unfortunately I needed the car back ASAP and they had the parts on hand. They did however soak me for a new flywheel after telling me that mine was toast.. I got the parts back and there was nothing wrong with the flywheel. If anyone needs one pm me

1600 is about right, dealers will charge between 1500 to 1800 from what I've seen. The reason they told you that a new flywheel was needed was they would have to machine the old one or get a new one. With a machined one there's a 50/50 shot it'll work smoothly, so they figured just get a new one and not risk you coming back if the machining wasn't done the best.

I have only heard good things about Wicked. another option may be Dentsport in Norwood. Alex and the crew are great guys. they have done a lot of work for me and I always had good results.

Ive never had a flywheel come back from teh machine shop and not work perfectly, out of probably hundreds at this point. Machining the old one should have been ~$40. If anyone has a problem with flywheels being hit or miss, they need a new machine shop!

Most of the time when I hear bad things about remachined flywheels is when shops do it themselves on a brake lathe. Probably not coned properly, etc.

Wicked did mine almost 40K miles ago and put in a resurfaced flywheel with 0 issues. Not going to Wicked is just a waste of time at this point
