Default Lego project, target - reliability

I am thinking/planning/saving of building a project car
as the basis I want to use 2.5 STI block and then I don't know
In short future after I build it I want to send it to Moscow so I'd have a fun car to drive there and reliability is > then power issue here
No secret, we have really sucky gas there and I've had friends whose engines went kaboom. We do have ECUTEK dealer there, but those guys are ***, just slap in the soft and you return to them in a week with screwed engine
So what would it be then? My idea was 2.5 shortblock, V7 heads, twin-scroll setup, FMIC
what engine management, ecu and such... what's missing?
or insetad of inventing a bycicle just get full USDM STI engine?

opinions?

I would think the most reliable would be just getting a built engine from start. Either from Axis or cobb tuning. They say that in stock form, the 2.2 liter is the most reliable when it comes to mods, but with a built 2.5 you can't go wrong either.

Hyper,

Mick Kehl who tuned my car at Four Star travels to Russia occasionally tuning Mitsu's for Xtreme (formally Ralliart UK). When the time comes for tuning, contact Four Star and get his number. He is an ex Motec engineer.

2.5L shortblock with JDM V7 heads gives you a high compression ratio, do a search, I think it was 9.5:1 or something high like that. Buy USDM STI longblock if reliability is more important than power.

For lots of boost you need low compression 8.2:1 etc... If your gas is crappy low compression is better, less chance of detonation.

Mick is only at Four Star to do some tuning. He travels all over servicing the Motec/Gems/Ecutek needs of rally shops. He runs his own business contracting out his knowledge.

The USDM 2.5L block with V7 heads are ~8.7:1.
