Default Finding new 2011 WRX's or STI's

I am in the market for a 2011 STI sedan. Potentially a WRX but likely an STI. However I have searched several dealers sites near me and nobody seems to have any STI's in stock or even a WRX. I would really like to test drive one. I currently have a slightly modded Mini Cooper S and as much as I love them there I am looking for something just a little bigger to take my kids for drives...

So in Southern Indiana does anybody have any leads on dealers that have them available in stock to test drive?

Best you can do is call one of the dealers and ask them, they are usually networked with the other dealers so they can tell you who has them and who does not.

Check out CarFinder.com Only 1 available within 180 miles of me. My local dealer had 2 STi's when I bought my WRX. I didn't want white but it was gonna be 12 weeks for blue ... being the head gasket in the car I was driving blew, I didn't really have time to wait.

Good luck!!

When I went with my buddy to order his the GM of the store got online to some program the Subaru dealers have and he can see inventory of all dealerships. I usually just get on cars.com and search there. Good luck with your search.

Have had trouble finding a good price on one in Oklahoma. Seems all the dealerships are using the Japan Tsunami as a way to keep the prices at sticker.

If you don't actually need the car right now, you are better off waiting for the tsunami after-effects to die down a little. Every Subaru dealership is poised to maximize their profits on the few WRXs and STIs on their lots right now. Subaru has already stopped taking orders on 2011 models so that gives the dealers leverage especially for buyers who have to have the cars now.

If you can wait 6 months for example, you can sign up for the Subaru VIP program and qualify for 2% below invoice.

When dealerships realize people aren't succumbing to a "buy it now" attitude, they will eventually have to lower the prices significantly in fear of seeing rotting 2011 models on their lots.

However, we all know that Americans cannot and will not wait so now you have people paying over $30,000 for WRXs and over $40,000 for STIs!

When I got my 2010 WRX pretty much the only ones available were premiums and Limited and only a handful were hatchbacks. Trying to fins a STI sedan is going to be rough I think. If anything I would see if any of your dealers are going to get one in and maybe put a holding deposit on it if you really want it that bad. My guess is it's going to be a bit of time before you see them on the lots.

Most dealerships don't have any STIs and if they do they usally wont let you drive them. Two i found in the south they wont let anyone test drive them because they dont want to put any miles on them since they are so rare atm. I had to pull there leg just to test drive a WRX.

There are a few in Texas, but not many. I was at the dealership yesterday, and there is a STOP order for all MY2011 WRX and STI's, meaning that they cannot be ordered at this time.

There is one black WRX by me, zero STIs. Asked dealer if any STIs or other colors will be available anytime soon. They said it could be months before getting anything else due to the disaster in Japan. If possible id wait till things get better.

I did not think about delays due to Japan. Waiting is no big deal. I love my Mini Cooper S and still not sure I want to part with it... Does the 2% below invoice apply to the STI? Also which affiliate would you recommend joining to take advantage of the VIP program?

last i heard not too many dealers are offering below invoice pricing on wrxs. due to the problem in japan they were starting to ask for more the dirty pr**ks. i ended up paying 300 over invoice. after ALL the research i did that NH dealer i just gave you was by far pretty damn good on pricing.

Purchased my WRX from here Wednesday night. Quoted and received invoice price on the car. Drove down and left within an hour. Couldn't get any dealers local to find the color and package I wanted so drove 2 1/2 hours to pick it up! Car is awesome and glad I went there.

Could I pretty easily make a WRX handle as well as the STI? My reasons for going with the STI are:

- the stiffer suspension. I am coming from a mini and I want something stiff (does it have a lower stance also?) This will not really be a daily driver. I only live 1/2 mile from my office and will likely get a golf cart to go to and from. So the STI will be driven 95% of the time for pleasure. I will also be doing more auto crossing in the future as time permits. I am sure that will be different than with my mini.

- 6 speed vs 5 speed; (My MCS is a 6 speed and I like that)

- better brakes, I love the feeling of great brakes

- si-drive (I love gadgets)

How much work would it take to get the WRX on par with the STI in the handling and braking department?

You can actually go on Subarus website and type your zip code in. It will show a map of all the dealerships around and you can check their inventory new and used. Its pretty cool thats how i found my 06 i was looking for
