One of the easiest things you can do... you need a 14mm & 15mm box & socket, a rachet, and jack stands... and a socket for whatever size the turbo heat shield bolts are (9mm?). Oh, and WD40 and new turbo-side and doughnut gaskets. Takes about an hour....

Yep, what he said. PB Blaster tends to work a little better for the bolts. Don't forget something for the O2 sensor... you don't need an O2 socket, and a wrench works fine. You don't need new gaskets, either... the donut at your DP/IP can be reused, and I've reused my turbo/DP gasket after two turbo swaps w/ no leaks (YMMV). After you do the install and drive it around a little bit, recheck the nuts/bolts at the turbo/DP... they might be a little loose. The key is to take your time with the bolts/nuts. I've seen so many people try to rush this or not take the time to soak 'em, and they end up either breaking or seizing them.

I'm sure you can. Just wear gloves when you do it. Hands saved.

Nah, that'd be too smart

It was actually putting my old WRX back to stock. I usually put the O2 sensor in before strapping the pipe back into the exhaust, but I forgot, and had already put everything back together. So I was trying to do it under the car, my hand slipped and I rounded the sensor bolt a bit, and punched the crap out of the heat shield. Good God did that hurt. Took forever to get all the grease / grime out of the cut, too.

if you've never installed parts on your car, then this is not the easiest thing to do, but with a couple weeks on and off researching what you need and what steps to take, should be doable. Depends if it's worth your time to learn and possibly buy or borrow tools. And cutting that turbo heatshield.....
