Canoe Rack Wind Noise
Got the Subary Canoe Rack for the Forester, and it made a lot of whistling noise, even at low speed. It consists of extension bars and small attachments for the straps that fits onto the standard Subaru Forester Roof Rack.
After experimenting for a while, I came to this solution to get rid of the noise: buy an extra rubber strip ($10), which is designed to cover the original roof rack rail, and using the existing ones as well, cut them into sections to fit just about any visible track opening you can find, even the one inside the plastic loops used to attach the buckles. Et voila...! noise is all gone...! |
