Zee Biker's 92x 2.0/VF30 and Beyond
Event: Dyno Pull
Location: Boomba Racing, Schaumburg, IL Ambient Temp: 75? Elevation: 800' Weather: Wet and inbetween storm fronts Tires: 2011 WRX take off's : Dunlop SP Sport 01's in 235/45-17. Car: 2005 Saabaru 92x Aero Tuner: Tyrael Dyno Info: Mustang Transmission: 2005 5 speed Gear: 3rd/4th/5th Peak HP at RPM: 235@6480 uncorrected Peak Torque at RPM: 235@3800 uncorrected Baseline hp/tq for a stock on same dyno: Have to be low! Target Boost: 19 and change on the dyno, more on that later. Target AFR: 11.3 Fuel: 93 Shell Engine/Power Modifications: HOA BCS, STi tmic, JDM pinks (thanks fellstar), Wally pump, prodrive UP, VF30 (thanks Tyrael), Invidia DP (thanks luti), APS Twin Tip 3" (thanks rexFTW). Driveline Modifications: 56k on the trans, 14k on a stock clutch? Suspension Modifications: Epic springs and RSB Other Modifications: Enkei ES Tarmac's in 17x8 +45, LGT brakes (HPS pads and Napa Gold rotors up front, stock stuff in the back) However, after seeing the graph and the boost output, I know I was supposed to hit 21#, and considering how my tune is setup to pull IAM in response to knock, I thought to reset the ECU. It's been a hot summer for all of us, and spending time between Chicago and Michigan, I figured I'd be a bit down on power. Sure enough, leaving Boomba, the car felt alive again! Thanks again to the people at 6 Star Motorsports, everyone who I have and will be buying parts from, and Tyrael for a great tune! Next year for the car are a trans (6 speed?!), maybe id1000's and e, or inlet/intake/header/EWG?

Event: quarter mile
Location: GLD: Union Grove, WI Ambient Temp: 75? Elevation: 778 Weather: Under real storm clouds Track and Conditions: concrete and prepped! Tires: Same as above ^ RT: 1.082 60': 2.137 330": 5.776 1/8: 8.842 MPH: 81.08 1000': 11.435 1/4: 13.647 MPH: 102.22 Got talked into running at Real Street Drags this past Friday which is a chance for midwest area folks (Chi town garage forum members) to grudge race. I was not planning on running and did not have the extra money to pay my way, so a friend spotted me. The event asked you to put a name on your back window so you can be designated more easily, and my friend wanted TAMPON. That's the explanation for the colorful descriptions. This run was hot lapped after a 2.2 60' where I missed second, after I was doing 2.6's all night. Slipping from 3500 is gonna do nothing by bog you, everyone. Car has plenty left in it as it trapped 104, but it'll need a driver to get that to happen, or I simply have to stop caring about saving the 5 speed. |

AB: Thanks for that airboy, even if it is anemic.
Everyone! Does that 104 trap make sense with that airboy? AND, does that airboy make sense with my parts list? |

Dude that 60' needs to drop about 4 tenths of a second. It should definitely be in the 12's trapping at 104 with a poor launch. Grow a set next time! lol

Anyone else wanna chime in? Seeing other 2.0's running VF's into the 11x's on 93 has me thinking lots of weight loss? Or are other bolt on's really pushing the turbos that much further? |

You have the setup to trap in the 108-110 range. That setup should be making an extra 25-35whp over what you made on airboy. IMO either something is wrong or it is overly conservative. Good running stg2 tdo4 cars trap 102-106mph on 2.0s

I do plan on running around with another vf'd 2.0 when the car comes out for the spring that Jorge did, but you got my attention for sure! Think my junk launch account for the difference? |

Without a doubt. With a customer's 16G 2liter I cut 1.78 sixty foots and run 12.6@107. On VD he's making 20hp more than you and 60tq so your results will vary.
But if you cut .3 off your sixty foot your gonna lose atleat that much (probably more) off your total time. EDIT: looking at the VD graph it looks like the ground wasn't level at all so any comparisons made from your car to other cars based on Airboy or VD are null and void... |

I'm 150, tuner was 180, 3rd friend getting tuned later was sitting in the car to 'max' load potential and is 260.
3200+150+180+260=3790. |

Sorry to dig this out of the depths, but to Dux and Junior:
Are you aboth talking about trap numbers on straight 93 or funny gas (E or otherwise)? I was under the impression I was within range by 1 or 2... |

No. On 93 you should be in the 108-110 range with a vf.
My customer's car was making 304whp and 324wtq in vd (on E85), but that was with poor compression and leaky BOV. With a less leaky BOV he hit 12.3 at 114 with wheelspin and blown headgasket (not sure how much power he was making at that time). Your mph matches a TD04 car. I wanna see a fresh log in VD on LEVEL ground from your car if possible??? |

New/clean log won't happen until March; the car is parked for the winter and has been for a few months. Leak test came back negative on initial install, but I was gonna get the tune looked at/touched up after all this news too. Weak motor could be to blame! It'd certainly fit the history this car has had since I bought it 2 years ago...
And thanks on the rims! I LOVE the design/weight and they're NEVER for sale, but I can't stand the color. Way too loud. I didn't buy a silver wagon to say look at me... |
