Who said anything about a NASIOC app?

I managed to buy a $350 netbook that was 3 months old for $110 and an iPod case that I never use... and I use that netbook for my schoolwork and for going on NASIOC at school.

Subaru doesn't use as many fancy electronics, but instead, relies on improving the engineering of the car's mechanical elements. So, there's not much subie owners can do to actually emulate an EVO's handling besides using sway bars, springs, struts, camber, toe, etc.
First things first....I'm a troll. I was bored on the Evo forums and started browsing here. Having said that......

In a DD situation, that is not an accurate assessment. The suspension geometry on the X is just better...PERIOD! When it comes to taking sweeping turns at high speeds on a track, that's when you can see the S-AWC kick in depending on which ASC setting you are on.

There is a center console display mode that shows the AWC in action, and its pretty hard to make it show any activity in DD unless one is driving like a total douche on public roads.

On the other hand, the Sti already has great transmission. You just spend money on a bigger turbo, supporting mods, and dont have to worry about the trans until you go even bigger. Plus Id rather have the extra 0.5 displacement than a 2.0 Not a big deal to others but to me, it is.
I think you mean the transfer case. The new transmission is a pretty decent one. I am yet to see somebody actually complain about a broken transmission because of power. It is notchy as as hell though.

I consider your input as more informative than trolly, catalystgod. The first negative thing I noticed about my STi is the fact the rear end bobs up and down and all around while rounding a decreasing radius turn, especially if it's not glass smooth. The shock/spring rates, while better than the 2008+ leave much to be desired, IMHO. I'm itching to install a decent set of coilovers as well as beefy sway/end links. I think that'll shore things up nicely. My buddy's 2005 STi will run circles around mine, stock-for-stock.

There are plenty of 400-500whp Evos out there with no tranny issues so I wouldn't say the tranny is weak. It's amazing what those cars can put down on the stock internals and transmission. Sure, if you're doing launches all the time with 500whp, something is going to break but for everyday use it's fine.
