Default PLEASE HELP QUICK!!!! OIL Question

Hello, I just have a quick question. Like all Sti's states that they should use 5w-30 motor oil. If i Put in 5w-40 Shell Rotella will I have a lack of performance and lose HP? from it being a heavier oil? thanks

Thats no problem mate. Personally, I feel that 5-30 crap is to thin, 5-40 is better for a turbo engine. I use 10-60 all year round, but I drive it hard.

and that you didn't read the thousands of threads saying that Rotella T6 is one of the best oils you can put in these motors, turbo or not.

You will feel the difference if you run that 5-30 **** hard and brake your bearings. Cause thats what youre risking for that extra 2 hp.

superserial serious though you will be fine. there is no noticeable loss of power and it will protect your engine better.
