There is no tuning available for this car. Although I heard that SARD Japan can reflash the ECU but they want $3k for around 30-40whp. I really hope that with the RCF coming out someone cracks the ECU or with the ISFs getting more affordable there should be more demand for aftermarket parts. This car is probably bomb proof; I would love to install a supercharger .

Awesome Juan!

Sounds like fun man. Hopefully that happens and you'll be able to mod and tune, and eventually find the limits

Yeah I hope so but the chances are very slim. I would love to install a supercharger

Thanks man, I love the car is completely different to the suby. If the new STI would have gotten a new engine I would be probably be driving one instead.

Great looking car, bet its comfortable too...

What kind of power does that thing put down to the wheels? Seems to make quite a bit of power at the crank!

It puts down around 350-360whp stock. The transmission shifts faster than the GTR tranny or the hellcat tranny; shift time is 100ms. If someone cracks the ECU this things can be turn into monsters

That is radical!

I am sure someone will R.E. the ecu, there is a lot of money to be made doing that stuff.

I did some work on the IS-F, plasti dipped my wheels . I also been to the 1/8th of mile track twice; with all seasons my best run was 8.71@85mph way slower than my WRX with the STi turbo on E85 . I also did some testing with E30 and it seems to make a little more power on the mid range.

This car is awesome, super reliable, I wish there was tuning available I would love to have a twin turbo setup. So far the only mods are the light weight wheels and I removed the secondary cats. I been thinking about getting a light weight battery, coilovers and removing the primary cats. I would remove the primary cats if I could run 100% E85.

I also been thinking about picking up a toy. I drove a couple of EVO's but I waiting to see how the Focus RS and the Civic Type R turn out. I would love to own a GTR but they still cost too much money. I also drove a Audi S3 but I didn't like it.

The car sound awesome , here is some pics:

Are those Wedsports TC105N wheels? What size and offset are they? I've been trying to figure out if the 18X9.5 in the +35 are concave enough for my taste but I can't find any actually pictures that verify it.

They are replicas but still light weight 18x9 +35

I took the IS-F to the 1/8th of the mile with a new light weight battery and MPSS tires on the rear on my stock heavier wheels and run my best time so far. I also added a carbon fiber rear spoiler and a front lip.

The ECU was finally cracked 2-3 months ago so I hoping that someone develops a turbo kit. The potential of this engine is unknown, hopefully is overdesigned like most of the toyota products. I heard some people had run a 225 shot of nitros no tuning and with no issues but the norm is a 150-175 shot.

If you want to tune, talk with phatron, there's a good chance he can do it with all the new software he just bought, basically any car. Doing all sorts of exotics lately

Thanks. I texted him will see what he says. Mikey said a while back that he can do it but he is too busy tuning other cars.

I haven't updated the thread in while. I now have a 2005 Evo 8 with 50,000 miles that I bought with lots of issues. I had TRE fix the transmission and t-case and they are fully built with quaife front diff and all the goodies. I had the front repainted because the paint was terrible. I did a few things here and there as well. It has a HTA Green with HKS cams and stock motor. Sadly still on 93oct.

The car is really fun it makes all the right noises .

I recently sold the IS-F because it was to small on the back and to fund a Tesla Model 3 that I have reserved. The IS-F is an amazing car; I will probably end up selling the Evo soon depending on how much the performance version of the Model 3 cost.

I hope everyone is doing great.

Just sold mine too.

It was definitely an amazing car but it was tiny and only got driven 18000 miles in 4 years.

How long did it take for you to sell your F?

Three sessions, and I read the entire thread. Juan, do you ever ponder going back to an STI?

Knowing what I know now I wish I would have done opposite of what I did, older subie (hatch or 04 style sti) for playing with and spent the bigger dollars on the dd. It's still fun though.

It took about 3-4 months. It was a hard car for to sell; people didn't want the black but if it was blue it would have sold in no time.

I was looking for Subaru when I bought the EVO but I didn't find the right one. I am thinking about getting a Tesla Model 3 next

I tried rear wheels drive V8, turbo car 4 cylinder turbo AWD, FWD cars... Is time for an electric car.

I have to admit, I can't wait to see you get the Tesla. The reason being is I think you will be able to test it out and give a great real world review. Who knows maybe even get it to the track

Good point, drag strip is what I want to see. Gut the thing and go hard.
