Default Jacksonville MOD Squad #2

Ahoy!

Fun at our last mod day here in Jacksonville.. the weather held up long enough for us to get what we needed to get done. Even had a visitor come down from Georgia!

Shauns springs (Whiteline) were really impressive in the ride quality department, and the dropped they produced on the car looked really professional. Not too low, but just enough.

Two Turbo Timers installs went in perfect, and one out of two EGT installs went good, the other (Mine) went whacky.

My readings are about half of what Ninrex gets on his car..

I full throttled up to about 120 mph and couldn't break 700 degrees..

Shaun, is Monday a good day for you for us to troubleshoot?

So, what's on the plate for out next Jax Mod Squad install day?

I hope to have something to install, not sure what it will be yet!!

Jay

Once again another event that I missed for being out of town Looks like fun was had by all too. Should be in the area for any other dates except for June 29-30 which is the Mini Meet East in Charleston, SC. Still looking to do the brake lines and pads at some point.

I keep missing these as well, unfortunately. Work's been busy. I'm in the Navy, and will be going to sea for a few months pretty soon. Hopefully I'll be able to meet all of you guys in the fall and get some help installing gauges and possibly a Vishnu or TurboXS package. Take it easy!

Shaun (Sparks),

The uppipe leak was FIXED!! Haven't heard any leaking at all yet, and i've tried my darnest to make it happen.

Talked to a friend about my EGT gauge, he's 100% sure it's the gauge, not the sensor. Especially that my gauge was sitting at 400 degrees when it got to me, a miscalibrated gauge or something.

Let me know if tomorrow (Monday) is good for you and we can look it over one more time.

I'll be ordering a Kart Boy short shifter, bushings, and knob!! I was sold after driving Sparks car.. love it.

Yeah, we need more owners to show up to our meets! The more the merrier.

Jay - If we have you and Dave's car sitting side by side, I could run a long wire to run his probe on your gauge, and then try your probe on his gauge. We need to trouble-shoot, it's the gauge or probe.

Thanks for having me down there with you guys. I had a great time! What else would anyone want to do besides work on their car with a couple of buddies? I don't know. I hope I can come again next time. I'll try to post some of my pictures later. Thanks again.

Yes we could do that.. when would you like to?

And I e-mailed the guy I bought the gauge from, he's more than willing to just send me an entirely new unit if I send this one back. What do you think I should do?

Would be nice, one place to keep a pictorial record.

Keep in mind all our photos are maintained in the i-club archive also.

The wagon is riding well, I was hoping it wouldn't be too rough and it's not. Now for rear camber bolts and an allignment shop that knows how to use them. Need to get to Whiteline's Touring specs.

Thanks goes out to eveyone who stopped by. Especially "Dave the Beer Man"

Welcome to our newest member Sean (wrxboxer4) from North Florida/South Georgia. Like that Scooby sport exhaust.

Next on my to do list is another Monkey (????), Whiteline rear sway bar (like Dave's) and Group N STI motor & tranny mounts.

More to follow,

~Shaun

Hmm, I'm hard to get a hold of on weekdays. (i.e. got off work at 9 tonight) But if you want I'll meet up with you this weekend. I might be able to swing something on Wednesday or Thursday. Let me know what you think.

I don't go to work on Wednesday until 9:30 pm, want to get together at Shaun's place before then?

A local guy has a brand new set of GroundControl Coil-overs for a WRX Sedan.. $250 (Excellent price)...

Spring Rates are:

Rear: 150.64.53
Front: 180.64.61

Those rates are pretty stockish, not much harder than stock, so it should ride nice.

These can only be used with stock shocks, you would need to buy an adapter in the future if you planned using them with aftermarket shocks.

Anybody interested in buying, e-mail me at [email protected].. Thanks!

Well, I'm assuming since I haven't heard from you that it's a no-go for tonight. Just as well since I really need to go buy some groceries!
