Transmission temp gauge idea, Switch to use coolant temp gauge so no dash space taken
That subject box is too small!
I dont like the "modified" look, with gauges popping out all over the place. I just thought of this. With a two position switch you could use the coolant temperature gauge to view transmission temp. Think of it, your coolant will rest right at about 190 degrees, and you are used to exactly where it points. With a temp sender wired to the secondary position of the switch a quick flip would show transmission temp. What do you guys think? The ultimate stealth gauge.

neat idea... you'd just need the right voltage range sender, or make your own circuit. That's a really cool idea, actually.

Well, the stock coolant sender would be the correct electrical specs and the temperature range is also the same. Some type of housing would be needed.

Problem lies in the lack of granularity..
120 means a lot to me.. so does 160... on the stock gauge... 120-140-200 all show up the same... dead center Jorge (RiftsWRX) www.ProjectWRX.com |

That's only because the ECU does an awful lot of filtering. The gauge itself is just a regular voltmeter.

Now, if only I still had an AT to hook it up to...
I'll take a peek in the wiring manual and let you know what I see. /Andrew |
