Good thing I picked up a sprayer. I'll be sure to load it up with water (and ice?) at the hotel.

Pics from yesterday are up at http://www.ner.org/v/solo/2008tour/
The ones I put up are separated by heat (1st runs only as I wasn't going to be standing out there all day in 90* heat), and candids. I did no retouching on these so some came out dark right now. I'll edit them later. --kC |

My Philly boys doing well again.
My local AS competition finished 2nd in AS and 2nd in SM2 (weird). Chris S, Cy, and JR taking 1,2,3 in STX and Corey and my boy Iman 1,2 in STU. Jerry Enger also won ES after failing tech on his first attempt and having to do emergency last minute repairs. |

Good job everyone!
I came close to third in STS. I'm confident the car was capable, but my driving wasn't good enough to get it done. I was able to match Scott's and Jeremy's pace on Sunday with a sloppy run, but I still had that 0.4s deficit from Saturday. Also, I had nothing for Eric and Dan, and I bet I would have been in 5th had Scott and Salvatore's Civic not spun a bearing. |

Excellent event, in spite of the excruciating weather both days of competition. It really sucked when the new bearing respun before tech, but in the true nature of the sport, both I and my supposed to be co-driver found alternate rides that proved interesting. Both of us earned 3rd places in our respective classes and won some contingency money for the car owners. Now it looks like I'll be driving back up to the area to pick up a "new-to-me" engine and tranny to replace this one - hopefully in time for the DC Pro. Sal just got in today, so we need a car in less than 2 weeks!

thanks for the kind words chike, it was a fun battle in the top 4-5 spots. I coned away my best sunday run which would have put me .1 behind 1st, but my friend Dave who finished first coned away an even faster run that would have been .6 faster than me had we both been clean. The best part about the weekend is that I know I left time on course, enough to give me hope from now till kansas. I am interested to see if rick puts together a pax for the tour because it seems to me that DS placed well overall, we beat a few classes we shouldnt have. See you in DC! Scott #87 DS |

rear = too wide Actually, Scott is going to go to drag radials for the fronts. He can't seem to keep the A6's from turning into smokey, molten lumps of rubber when he leaves the start line. Just bustin your ballz cause I'm jealous of your horsepower Scott! |
