Does the AP fuel economy map actually make a difference?
Hi all,
I'm heading to Spokane today from Portland for business. I have an AP V2 and am fully stage 2 with a perrin FMIC, inlet tube, uppipe, and CP. I'm just wondering if the economy map actually makes a big difference on the freeway cruising at aroun 70-75? I get paid by the mile so the better gas mileage I get, the more money I make. Someone who has compared both, can you fill me in please? I don't plan on driving aggressive at all. Thanks in advance Bryan

ive done acouple trips from western washington to ellensburg and both times doing 70-75 on I-90 going over the pass i got 28-30 mpg! what ive learned is just stay out of boost, about 3k rpm and your good!
here is a link that might help too! http://forums.nasioc.com/forums/show...el+economy+map |

It helped my car last road trip cruising just over 75 I averaged 34mpg but if you have to pull alot of hills it does not help that much may even hurt mpg so i stick to the stage 2 map if i know i have to go over a lot of passes. this weekend set the cruise to 80 and fought wind all the way and averaged 31mpg on economy mode.

It seems like the general consensus is that your driving style will make the biggest difference - AKA be smooth with the throttle and stay out of boost.
But - if you're hankering for ultimate gas mileage - it certainly can't hurt. |
