Default Need a new power steering pump

A few weeks ago my power steering pump started to whine pretty loud. I jumped on the net and looked around for where to buy one. I found a few places selling the pump for about $230. Now here it is today, I go to buy the pump and the price has almost doubled!!! The best price I can find is $425, and thats at SubaruParts.com. Has the crazy price for a barrel of crude oil caused our parts to double in two weeks? Can someone suggest a place that has a decent price on a pump?

Thanks in advance.

yeah things have increased accross the board on all fronts. I would keep searching and check the junk yards for low mileage used ones too.

I just ended up picking up a re-man from autozone. I'll post how it goes.

Thanks!

It was recommended by my mechanic to get a new one from the dealer. They could not find a remanufactured unit for an 09. $500+ plus labor. Ouch!

Oh snap, I thought they were Asian Unicorns!

My bad, I stand corrected.
