Post 11.4" rotors on '02 WRX but only dual pistons???

I noticed from various WRX literature that the new WRX has the 11.4" rotors but I've also noticed that it only had the dual piston calipers. What gives???

I think it all comes down to cost. Maybe Subaru thinks that a lower price will mean more sales, rather than better brakes. (just gotta upgrade them I guess) oh..by the way..we here in Oz get the 4 pots at the front and vented rear discs with 2 pots..

It's using the 6 cyl Outback brakes. Good, but not 4 piston.

Upgrade.

All the reviews that I've seen on the US WRX have said that the brakes are really good, even with the 2-pots. If you HAVE to have thi bigger brakes, get them.

Same design as the S4 brakes. Works great 95% of the time for 95% of the people. If you want better bite and fade resistance, upgrade the pads and fluid. If you're a heavy left-foot braker or are running LeMans, get Alcons.

While we're on the subject of Lemans, how bout Carbon rotors and pads for $20k?

Gotta love the pit crew at Lemans. 2min for all 4 rotor/caliper/pad change. 5min for putting in a new tranny.

actually i wouldn't run an Alcon on a subie. For a subie i would get either a Brembo setup or the real deal STI. Alcon is mainly used for Audi applications. their calipers are nice, but you pay. Also, i don't think they have a subie kit. lol

I'll have to give them a try, but I also think I will be wanting to step up the the Brembo, AP or Alcon setups.

Prodrive's brake upgrade for street cars uses Alcon hardware.
