Commmon problems:
Side seat belt has no holder, falls into door seam
Clip for lap belt rubs on center console
Seat height is different enough to cause uncomfortable driving (especially if you get non height adjust seats)

Anyways, I swapped 97 Legacy GT seats into my 90 Legacy LS keeping the 97 rails. The rails bolted fine. I had some seat belt issues so I decided to use the 90 rails with 97 seats. The 90 rails where a little shorter so I dremmeled the front and was able to bolt them to the 97 seats. I then dremmeled out two holes on the outside of each seat to connect the lap belt holder to the side. If you need specifics please ask.

I plan to take the 97 Legacy GT seats out and use 91 Legacy Turbo seats instead. The second generation Legacy seats aren't designed as well as the first generation units. Comfort is far higher with the older seats. I ESPECIALLY like that some first gens have Vertical AND Horizontal adjustable head rests

cybin: Your overly worried. You dont mind driving a vehicle with 15 gallons of extremely flamable liquid but you want to take out the HEAVILY regulated air bags that have never just deployed for no reason?

I'm still kicking myself for picking the V8 over the V7 to install on my MY00 - I should have been driving in the STi seats starting late September...

I'm looking for info on swapping height adjusters on JDM seats from my drivers seat to the JDM passenger seat so I can keep my adjustments.

I looked for Imprezer info on it but that too long ago and i couldn't find anything.

Not true. People have been hurt badly by airbags going off. The warning label even states that they can go off accidentally. Emergency workers have been hurt when they try to cut though the car and hit a side impact airbag. I drive with the gas becouse I have too, No sense driving around with airbags that are not hooked up.

Anyway heres one website with more info.

Would it be possible to swap a 98 Outback rear seat into my 95 Impreza sedan? Ive never seen the inside of an Outback so I have no idea, if they wont fit, would the seat cover swap?

Thanks for any help!

Bump from the dead. Might be common knowledge but...

2002/2003 WRX Sedan Front and Back seats will fit in a 95-99 Legacy Sedan.

A couple of notes though: You have to use your Legacy seat belt clip and a spare nut/bolt. The lowest position of the WRX seat is only slightly lower than the highest position of the Legacy seat. Only 4 of 5 front seat bolts line up. The rear seats fit well although there is a slight gap so you can see the top of the strut from the rear triangle window. Despite this, it's worth it, the stock Legacy seats are crap!

Now, which year WRX Wagon seats will fit a 2004 Impreza wagon? I assume: 2002-2007 Front will fit, 2002-2005 Rear will fit? Anything else?

Another bump from the dead.

I am looking to see what needs to be done to swap a 2003 WRX wagon REAR seat into my 1995 L Wagon.

Does anyone have any experience with this?

So- my 2012 Impreza has seats that I just dont find comfortable. Plus I keep hearing a sqeaky spring sound from the backrest shoulder area. SOA is supposed to be fixing it but the noise is intermittent so its hard to replicate on command.
I really like this car other than the seats. I've driven Legacy's and find their seats to be much firmer and more supportive.
Would Legacy seats fit/work in an Impreza? And also what to do about the side airbag?? Any help or suggestions would be great. Thanks.

The back seat will have to be modified a bit, but yes.

Default Seat swap

Does anyone know if 2008 Subaru STI front seats will fit on a 2004 Forester XT with no modifications? Are the bolt patterns exactly the same?

Question

I've been searching and haven't found a for sure answer yet.

Does the 07 WRX Wagon seats fit into the 07 WRX Sedan? I would really like to have some fold down seats instead of the silly pass through.

I see wrx's, legacy's, etc...but no forester's.

So, will a 2011 WRX seat fit in a 2006 Forester?

Lots of unanswered questions in this thread. I'll try to help with a few.

GD STi seats will fit in GCs using the GD rails. They will sit higher. The L rails do not fit on the STi seats. Conceivable you could use the bottom portion of the L sliders with the top portion of the STi sliders, but there is a big lump of metal that has to be drilled out to make this work. I may try this sometime as I have STi seats in my 94 Impreza Base (L predecessor) and I am tall so my head hits the ceiling with my helmet on. Also, I used the buckles from my 94 seats in place of the STi buckles as they are different.

I have also read that you can use 2001 Legacy brackets on the STi seats to make them fit lower in the GCs. I will try this when I can find a Legacy at the junkyard with these brackets. Went yesterday but they didn't have any.

GC rails work on the bugeye seats, which I believe are the same as the SAAB seats.

For what it's worth, the bugeye seats are incredibly more comfortable and equally as bolstered as the GD STi seats, IMO. They just don't look as nifty as the STi seats.

No.

Front belts are the same. Rear buckles are different for 04+ if I recall correctly.

No. The sedan and wagon rear seats mount very differently on both the GCs and GDs. GD sedan seats will fit in a GC with a little persuasion (I have 04 STi rears in my 94 impreza). I don't know if GD wagon seats will fit in GC wagons. But swapping between wagon and sedan is not a bolt-in affair.

Edit: This is from my build thread on another forum to show the difference in the 94 buckle vs. the 04 STi buckle:

Here's the STi buckle and the 94 buckle (top). Just swap over the bolt and hardware from the STi buckle and they work just fine.

Resurrecting a thread for us GD STI owners. Will the newer 2008+ STI seats fit into our STIs? I'm looking for something a little more mature for the interior (i'm really tired of blue in my silver STI).

Since the 2008+ have a nice black finish I really want to swap those in and WRX carpet (black) along with a black WRX back seat (or 2008+ STI). Has anyone performed a swap like this?
