Vivid racing has excellent service but does take a little of time to get the product but other then that good service. One thing they can do is notify me if there out of stock on some product cause i was waiting for one product for a long time without knowing that it was out of stock until i emailed them.

A really good selection that is unmatched by anyone else. The experience was totally positive, but their online support skills could be improved a bit (one phone call sorted things out though). I would recommend them to anyone.

Dan and Vivid are great.
Had a small mix up on Cusco camber plates but was easily resolved. He also had ZeroSports wing adaptors in stock and STi strut tops front and rear in stock. No one else had these these items. Thanks Dan for all the help. Owen |

Dan's the Man!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I ordered a MBC and Emblem from Dan on Sunday, order processed Monday, received Thursday. I think that's good service. Anytime I've called Dan to ask about products he is happy to help. He knows his stuff. Some prices are a little high but most are right in line with the others and I challenge ANYONE to find a better selection for the WRX. I feel like a 4 year old kid in a Candy Store everytime I logon to his site. Not gonna happen. When it does let me know because I'm always looking for good products at a great price. Thanks Dan. Keep up the good work. Andrew |

Dan was great though. Anyone good at installation? |

I am impressed with the selection of items available from Vivid. I have placed two orders (Major, at least for me) and have received all the items that I ordered. I intend to place additional orders with them in the future. Thanks Vivid - I-56D2

I just want to say that this thread has been the most entertaining reading since I have been a member of the I-Club. You really have to read it from cover to cover to take it all in but it did supply a chuckle or two back in the stolen logo/military chapter a few pages back.
I dont plan on buying from Vividracing but I dont need anything for my impending WRX so theres no need. Four things I learned a long time ago from my boss that really says it all: 1) You may not be wrong, but the customer is always right. 2) Kill em' with kindness. 3) Cheapest isnt always least expensive. 4) Time is money. If vendors and buyers keep these things in mind, everything else is cream cheese. |

Dan has been helpfull. I only ordered stickers, but was having trouble getting them. I have a new address, and the mailman kept sending my mail back. But Dan has kept up on e-mails letting me know the situation. They got returned, but he is sending them one more time. I will send more money with them some day!

I've ordered a bunch of stuff from Vivid Racing.
1. Their website and selection is one of the best I've come across for Subaru parts. It's organized and informative. 2. Their prices are quite competitive. 3. Some of the orders have been trouble-free. A couple of orders had some hiccups that were taken care of fairly promptly. 4. Biggest problem I've had so far were the lack of updates on some items that were delayed, and not being informed of tracking number despite repeated requests. |

I ordered a pair of clear corner markers from Vivid.
Good points: - The product was shipped right away and I was told so. - They answer their e-mails Bad points: - The product was total crap. Both markers split down the middle when I was installing them (where the clear lens is glued to the reflective backing). Neither marker sits flush against the side of the car. To install them, I had to take the lens apart, install the reflective back first, and then carefully super glue the clear lens onto the backing. |

Ya know
I had a little problem with vivid awhile back, but after talking to Dan getting everything straightened out i feel confident in ordering from them. Dan was up at 10:30pm doing whatever Dan does on his computer, and i sent a email requesting a tracking number....sure enough Dan sent a reply. I wasnt expecting a reply at 10:30 at night. We traded a few emails and he got me all squared away. Way to go Dan!!!

Hotsam -
First off we do not make the products, that is why we recommend OEM parts not Foreign made aftermarket sometimes. Secondly, that is not the correct way to install them at ALL! You do not take apart the lens, they are full replacements. Lastly, if you would have called we would have sent you a replacement. |

I only took them apart after they began to seperate while installing them. I fully realize that is NOT how to properly install them, but I had to do what I did in order to get them to work.
I didn't call for replacements because I made them work. Like I said before, Vivid's service is EXCELLENT. When I received an e-mail from Vivid requesting that I post here, I did! I'm just giving an honest reply. Would I buy from Vivid again? Probably. |

Just letting you know that is something we could have replaced for you. If there is a question from anyone on a part, installation, or if it is defective, always contact us so we can help you.
Thanks for the post. We like to keep our novel going. |

I post both good and bad comments about vendors...
unfortunately my dealings with Vivid were not great....here's what happened: I order OZ Racings SLs with some tires from vivid on a Saturday...they won't know the exact deal on that til monday...no problem. So I call monday to finalize the order...they have my credit card...ship address...all the info...and tell me they'll ship em out. So I call wednesday to get a track number cuz i'm curious...but they can't "find" it...say they'll e-mail it to me. No e-mail so I call thursday...they still can't "find" it. So I decide to just be patient and wait...on Monday I call again...and they tell me they still can't find the number but they went out a couple days ago. Ok so they shipped....phew!....but wait now its friday and the wheels aren't here...hmm 5 business days is the max for ups in the continental US so i figure I'll call and get that track number...which they couldn't find but after AIM messaging them a couple times they sent it to me and told me the wheels shoulda been there by now...uhh...yea they shoulda been here last week! So I track the packages and they had shipped...the DAY BEFORE! So I wait another week for my wheels.... I'm a patient guy and would have gladly waited if I was told what the holdup was but I was flat out lied to and I will never deal with Vivid Racing again...furthermore everytime I called I asked for a total cost...seing as they had my credit card number and had charged it...they NEVER gave me one...a week after I got my wheels i finally got an invoice in the mail. In the end it took 3 weeks, 5 or 6 phone calls, several AIM msgs and a great deal of aggravation to get my wheels/tires...clearly this is not a well run business...if you got your parts from them in a timely fashion i'd consider yourself very lucky. I understand that any company screws up sometimes...but to lie to a customer repeatedly and refuse to tell a customer what you are charging them is very poor business. Companies that I have had recently had positive dealings with include TurboXS, TireRack, autobulbdepot.com, Midnight Moose, and subaruparts.com all of whom i'd like to thank for their prompt, honest, and helpfull service. |

Counterpoint, just speaking from my personal experiences with Dan at Vivid Racing during the past 9 months, it has always been pleasant to deal with them. In fact, even as we speak, I just got off the phone with Dan and had another positive customer experience. Very helpful in guidance and delivery and service. I've bought numerous items on multiple occasions and have always been completely satisfied with the experience and results.

Vivid Racing = Good Prices + $hitty customer service.
After reading some of the followups in this thread, I realized the poor service I received from Dan was not an isolated incident. I originally posted some fairly neutral feedback in a Vivid GB thread I was in on that turned sour for me (stuck to the facts - nothing subjective), and Dan responded with a very public display of unprofessionalism and complete disrespect shown toward me. Needless to say, I shall never purchase from him again. I'm sure he considers this a small loss, but obviously he is setting a tone for the way he does business. I am involved with a network of local WRX owners, and I will be very vocal regarding this incident with every single one that I come into contact with. What goes around, comes around. I have had numerous dealings with other aftermarket WRX vendors, such as SPO, TurboXS, Kartboy, Godspeed, etc. and I have received impeccable service from each and every one of them. This is the stark contrast between some fly-by-night operation like VividRacing, compared to businesses that have been in practice for many years or who simply realize the value of great customer service. :monkey: Here's the thread. How not to do business. -Pace |

This isnt specific to VividRacing per se, but a general comment or two. I've read all of the vendor comments on these forums over the past several months and its pretty much underlined my initial observation that if you want the best service and best ability to keep on top of an order or status of an order, getting it from a local provider is still the most comfortable way to go. I read about people buying hood scoops, wheels/rims, springs, etc on here in GBs and sometimes folks wait a week and sometimes they wait two and a half months. Thats unacceptable for me. And you have to really ask yourself how much you're really saving. Figure ever extra hour you have to spend chasing down an order or status of an order is $50 -- a lowball estimate of how much all of our free time is worth. So cheapest isnt always least expensive. Unless I'm purchasing an extremely expensive product or one I cannot get locally, I will continue to stick to the shops near my home for what I need. I can get answers easy, and if anything looks fishy, I can walk into the store and talk face to face which clears up mumbo jumbo 99.9% of the time. Perhaps that may cost you 10% more on your bill, but with all the time and aggravation you save (usually), I consider it a wash even in the worst case.
I think too often folks get enamored with how much something costs and all they look at is the money saved on the receipt and not all the other things that go into buying and selling. There is your time involved, the relationship, the one-on-one or lack thereof, etc. Again, this has nothing to to with VividRacing. All I know is what ive read good and bad on them as well as all the other vendors. Just giving an opinion from a different angle. |

I have purchased anywhere from 1,300 to $1,600.00 worth of goods from Dan and I've had no problems. He has been straight forward and responsive. I hope my wife dosn't read this, if she finds out, then I'll have a problem.

I thought my problem was solved,..
I ordered Gracer lip few weeks ago through GB. What a mistake.
Last and every time I called, I was told that the lip is being either received, painted, or shipped. I'm still waiting. Few weeks passed and I got e-mail from vivid stating that my defi gauge pod (which I ordered and which was in stock untill I paid for it, then it was backordered) and my lip will be shipped together. Well, got #$%^ed again. I got the pod, but now I think that my gracer lip is being delivered by foot from CA. But hey, the good news is they did charge my credit card. That's what counts. All I can say, I'm very dissapointed with their service. Explenation like "we get hundreds of e-mails, bla,bla,bla..." don't do anything to me as a customer. Hire more people and stop bitching. Good luck to all of you waiting. P.S. I don't think vivid is even reading their own board, but hey, you got problem, write there. Last edited by dank; 04-17-2002 at 05:13 PM. |

Glad to see I'm not the only one.
I'm certain dan/staff are working hard.. but thats no excuse for the way things are working out.. constant emails.. and instant messages and no worthwhile replies. They should "offer" products that are out of stock.. or at the very least tell you the same day that its out ot stock. Its been 3 days and nothing.. -Leon |
