Default Car makes odd click sound when deaccelerating...

Today my car started making a strange sound...

I was driving around with all my windows down today (finally a nice friggin day), and I was in third gear accelerating, then I took my foot off the gas and I hear a click sound from the engine bay and the car sort of hesitated a TEENIE bit. Didn't take much notice to it.

But it kept doing it, not everytime I took my foot off the gas, just now and then.

It almost sounds like when the cooling fans come on for the radiator...

Very odd. Anyone have any ideas?

My only mods are grounding mod, K&N panel, and a rear sway bar...

Thanks in advance!

Sounds like you may be experiencing the clutch decelleration noise. If it is, you should be able to get it fixed by warranty. Search around the warranty forum.

Aww crap.

I thought that only happened to cars who's VIN was under a certain number? I checked and mine was newer.

****, that really sucks.

Anyone else think it could be anything else?

Well, i have a blow off valve (GFB) that makes a similar noise when the rpm drop...but obviously that is not your problem. does it only do it in gear? or can you hear it as the rpms drop while parked?

I was experiencing a similar sound when I would let off the gas...it was more of a 'tink, tink, tink' sound, though. It turned out to be one of the bolts in the middle of the exhaust system had come very loose and was rattling a little....I could hear it best with the windows down. Obviously, I didn't experience any hesitation, though.

Probably not the same as your problem, but it never hurts to crawl under and make sure everything's tight.

It only happens when in gear, and when I am deaccelerating...

The weird thing is, I just drove around for an hour and it didn't do it once...

Weird car, very weird car...

I am having a similar but different problem. I get a light ticking noise when I let off the gas after revving. I can only hear this when I'm in my garage with the door open, revving in neutral, while the revs fall, there is an erratic ticking. And it doesn't happen consistently. Can anyone tell me what's occurring?

is this only occuring when the car is warm? if so, it may be your exhaust.my factory exhaust ticked really loud when at running temperature. you should not be able to hear it when driving though and definitely not to be felt when driving. just a thought. i am very curious about this. good luck to you guys.

Yes, it only happens after I have taken a drive. I first noticed it when I was getting out of the car. So yes, only when the engine's warm.

Nope, it happened only like a minute or two after the car had been running at less than 35 mph...

It is weird, it hasn't done it all day today...
