Question RS > WRX Suspension swap?

Shoudl I do it (swap my RS suspension to a used WRX suspension)? Could I only swap out the springs (im assuming the spring rates are different)?

Whats the actual differences between the RS and WRX suspension?

The springs make a diff, but if you spend any money on labor, just buy a set of stiffer lowering springs like Eibach. They are better than the stock WRX. The struts are the same. The strut tops are different.

I dont wanna lower my car, plus Im cheap, what can I say.

If I can get a set of springs for like 50$ off the club here and install them and get a better suspension...im all for it. Instead of spending like 300+ for a lowered suspension that I really dont like (i dont like lowered WRX's....plus I take my RS off road sometimes)

DDMAN,

I'm planning to do the same with my 2002 RS. And I found out that the RS and WRX Sedan use the same springs and same struts (same p/n).

Only the sway-bar differs. I know the rear sway-bar can be switched, but I don't know about the front one.

I was going to open a topic on switching the front sway-bar... Has anybody done it yet ?

Default Check that

I know the strut part numbers are the same between RS and WRX in '02 but I didn't think the springs were the same. Any RS owner should get at least a 20mm rear bar immediately.

Eibach springs really only lower the car to the amount considered normal in other cars. The heavier spring is an improvement.

There may be a heavier aftermarket spring that only lowers 1/2".

Get new tires and wheels, it makes a huge difference.

Ya...

I already have the 20mm sway bar, and Just wasnt sure how much of a difference the WRX springs would make.

Thanks all!

Find an AUTOMATIC WRX springs, they are even stiffer than the manuals (just a little, and dont shoot the messanger cause it was SOA who gave us the actual spring rates awhile back)
