Default Perrin inlet install issues

Hey guys I am having a few issues with my install, The bulge were the BPV nipple is molded into is hitting against the coolant(?)hard line where I cant fully seat the inlet onto the turbo. If I angle the inlet a bit up I can get the nipple on bpv to rest against the hard line but can not get the inlet to seat all the way with out it having a slight bulge where it again will not seat all the way,

I can get the inlet to seat all the way by angling the bpv nipple facing down but then will not be able to get the bpv hose on. I am at a loss and with me trying to get the inlet over the turbo it is starting to wear. Was there any tricks you guys tried doing to get it to seat fully? I did try to use hair spray to help it slip on worked great until the bulge forms.

Thank's.

PS also talked to perrin and they said to crush the inlet a little, I did that and it did not work.

Yeah I was at it for 3 hours the old one came out no issue didn't break anything on it. Even getting it put in is cake, but getting it to seat argh such a pain.

I heard the v2 turbo inlet pipes addressed the hardships that was associated with the install. OP is your inlet used? It might very well be a v1.

That coolant tube is really easy to bend. I had to bend it a good bit to fit my MR inlet.

Nope brand new straight from Perrin.

Leafy I was thinking of taking off the bolt that is holding that hard line, I tried bending it but no leverage, ill give it another shot though

I may have used the screw driver that fixes everything (the big flat head from HF) and pried against the turbo.

Wish I could figure out to multi quote lol, anyways the removing the manifold will be a last resort as I do not have all the tools I would need to remove it.

Leafy which part of the turbo did you pry on to bend the coolant line? I just need about a half inch to get the inlet to fully seat.

Spray some WD-40, helps it slip right on.

I blasted it with lithium grease and was able to get it on after a lot of wiggling and busted knuckles

not sure if thats the best idea, but thats the approach you need to take. blast the crap outta it with warm soappy water. i kept a bottle on hand for my install so i could continously spray it. it's a wicked PITA to get in, just make sure you get it fully on the turbo.

I ended up using Hair spray to get it further on, Its still barely on but it has seated, I said screw it and clamped it down and took it for a test drive. Everything looks great, Was a pain in the ass but I am happy that it is done.

Now I have to figure out why my tmic is popping off the throttle body, Just got some new clamps so hopefully it will hold better. Thank's for everyones help!

Oh i was tuned at 19.5psi of boost and am now hitting 20.1 psi is this due to the inlet? No vac leaks and no boost leaks as far as I can tell.

That is barely on there. If its got a good seal that's all that matters. Grats!

the TB hose to IC just are prone to coming apart. its a faulty design. buy an aftermarket one they arent expensive at all.

That was next on my list already on rsd looking at some new coupler's.

If I had to do this all over again I would probably just take it to a shop to do it. My mechanic is happy I did it though he hates doing them haha
