Hey man, I'll be getting there about June 20th with my MY04 WRX Silver Sedan. How late will you be at Sheppard?

I'm currently at Sheppard AFB (Wichita falls) for tech school (air force).
I am currently trying to buy a wrx from Subaru of Dallas, but am having a bit of difficulty since I can't actually go there. Trying to make a deal via email/phone is not exactly what salespeople want to do. But I don't know if I can afford it on my A1C pay. Sure wish there was a Military discount on cars.
So... if I end up with one, then I'll be here for ya (subie support).

milkcartonkid!
Good News! BOY and I are stationed here and I know that I would love to do some sort of mini meet, I can almost bet that BOY will be interested also, I just PM'd him a link to this thread so he might chime in. I am looking forward to your arrival, I have a slightly modded Blue 04 WRX sedan and will be glad to greet you when you arrive if you like.

Wichita FAlls isn't that bad... put it an hour closer to DFW and it'd be golden. Anyhoo, I've been stationed here since MAy of 2000 and have seen a few RSs and WRXs cp,e amd go. Most of this town is full of riceroni but there are some quick SRT-4's, a couple of Evo's, a very quick turbo civic, and a couple of really nice lookers (oh, there's a sleeper 1g MX6 that looks like caca but goes like stink). Regardless, I'll be separating this summer (still haven't set my date (officers don't have an EOS, or enlistment requirement... we have to apply to leave) yet but should be here through june. I'm always up for a meet, ask Bankheist, Hellwagon, etc but the trip to DFW has become rather tiresome (plus having an 8 month old keeps me rather busy).

how are the crew's though...is it a general "Hey Nice Car!" type deal or is it "eff you, i am fAsTAr!" all the time?

either way, would be nice to get with everybody at least once.

I know that most of the Scooby owners that I have met are pretty cool and willing to share tips and tricks, weather it comes to driving or tuning your car. BOY has been really cool to me and helping me with my ride. As we speak I am trying to secure a location for our mini meet some time this summer, I need to know what dates work for all that want to attend. I have a couple of places in mind, and I’m trying to figure out how to reserve the area. But to completely respond to your question, I can only answer for my own experiences, and it is a general "Hey Nice Car!" type deal around here.

We've got options up here for meet loctions, as a student you'll be likely stuck on base if you're single and you'll have to survive phase I before you get the privledge of going off base in uniform... whoopee. Then again, if you're prior you may get through the BS quicker.

There is a great drive around Lake Arrowhead, takes about an hour to get through but its a great ride (http://maps.yahoo.com/maps_result?zo...an_x=0&pan_y=0 the map doesn't do it justice).

Yeah, the BS def. sux. Even for phase III. And especially without a car. But I'm tryin' hard to get one.
I'll be here 'til middle of July tho, so you'll prolly be here by then and I'll hopefully have my new subie by then.

I was wondering the same damn thing. I've seen ONE '02 Impreza and it was non-turbo.

Finally some more people. I moved here from Tampa and found no love.

I am in Wichita Falls now. Send me some info on a meet sometime

hey milkcartonkid, we'll have to see about fastest one there if you mean WRX in Wichita Smalls
