Default egt probe in the collector?

I have done some searches on where to mount the probe to an egt gauge and it seems like no one mounts it in the manifold collector. I know that cylinder #4 seems to run the hottest and a lot of you guys mount the probe on the casting button of the driver manifold but what if you have a problem with one of the other cylinders that arent tapped? I think I am going to mount my probe in the collector unless someone can give me a reason not to.

Also, what do you guys think the temp difference will be if I mount it in the collector since my probe will be a little farther down stream?

Thanks.

Unless you install 4 you should pick one(or 2, really) and be done with it.....That is why the casting button on the drivers side is picked so often....'cuz it's in a good place and it's easy.
