Default GC VS GD front crossmember, help having an issue.

Sorry to cross post. I have a MY95 Impreza L with an EJ257 swap. I have a JDM GC8 front crossmember and I just added 2006 STI aluminum control arms with with MY 2006 STI transmission swap axles and hubs. I swapped the front bushings to Super Pro for a GC* and the arms bolt up no problem. The problem I'm having is I can't get the front sway bar to connect. I have the SuperPro Roll Center & Bump Steer Correction Kit and coil overs. I am trying to install a 24mm Whiteline front bar and it hits on the control arms and it is like the bar mounts to the crossmember to far back. Does the GD bushings mount further forward? Do I need a GD crossmember? I've done a lot of searching without success.

I'm pretty sure the crossmembers are the same. Is the swaybar for a GC or GD? I believe the sway needs to match the control arms.

Your problem may be in the sway bar. What car is the bar for? A GC turbo, GD WRX wagon or a GD STi Sedan? You need a GD STi sedan bar for this to work. A GC turbo or GD WRX wagon bar are the same and are a narrower width and different design.

I'm using a JDM GC8 turbo front cross member like you, but I'm using GC8 LCA's so I had to go with a GD WRX front bar for things to work. I'f for some reason I want to swap to the STI LCA's that increase track width I'd need to switch over to a GD STi bar.

It's a whiteline 24mm GD STI front bar, I tried the factory STI bar no better results.

Don't worry, you're not the first person to have done it.
