Lightbulb good ECU tuner in Texas????

I was wondering if any of y'all know of good ECU tuners around Texas (for a WRX). Cobb Tuning in Dallas seems like a pretty upscale joint, and I know the sell the APS gear, meaning I'd be getting a Unichip ECU if I went there. I also like the fact that they are Subaru specialists. I have also heard great things about Carboy in Houston, although they aren't specialists; heard the guys that work there really know their stuff.
An ECU is only as good (or bad) as the guy who maps it, so I'm really trying hard to find the best tuner out there to do mine. Any help or tips would be appreciated.

Thanks,
John

Uh, they don't know jack shiit about Subarus. They wanted to tune the car to fix the 'lumpy' idle.

Where am I located....good question. Well, I'm in North Carolina now, finishing my time here at Duke. When my girlfriend and I graduate in May, we're moving to New Braunfels; I'll be at UT San Antonio Dental, and she'll be at UT Law in Austin. She's moving from Dallas, and I'm moving from Houston. She's actually the one getting the WRX, but we're going to be all over the place moving and such, so getting mods to the WRX can really be done in Houston, Dallas, Austin, or Dallas.

Thanks for the replies, y'all, and any more suggestions would still be appreciated.

theres really no one else to even suggest except cobb tuning...

though you can get a turboxs or vishnu kit and install it yourself.

It's not actually the installation I'm worried about; as far as the physical installation, I could probably do it myself. But it takes a true professional to be able to map an ECU and increase power and torque while keeping the engine reliable. Plus, it requires a dyno.

Jmott,
It looks like you have the APS Club-spec package...is that right? How do you like it? Does it make a huge difference from stock? I'm thinking about getting that along with the STi engine and tranny mounts.

if you have excel, take a look at this

http://24.28.105.115:8080/power.xls

if not, do a search for "dyno comparo" in this forum and youll find a chart I made comparing various kits.

vishnu and turboxs make kits that come with properly tuned maps/chips that many people have been using with success. If your goals are in 300 crank hp or less level, that route should work fine.

im very happy with the aps stage1. but its by far the most expensive kit for that power.

My 1/4 mile time with the APS stage1 alone (before the upipe) went from 14.6 to 13.5

and you can see from the chart that its a huge difference from stock.

Yep, don't discount these 2 as they are VERY good tuners!
