It was St Louis, not Detroit. I really am kicking myself for not taking a picture. After 7 hours of driving through a blizzard the car looked like Santa Claus :P

I could see having problems on a steep snowy hill but if that's your concern get Nokians and sand bags instead of Blizzaks. They turn any vehicle into an all terrain tank.

The only time you're "down on power" is merging onto the highway in 6th gear. Other than that you have plenty of torque for around town driving and it rips through the backwoods at high rpm. (you can totally feel VTEC direct injection kick in yo).

I couldn't stop giggling the first time I drove an STi but that wore off after having one for awhile. EVERY TIME I turn off traction control on this beast I literally lol and it's usually at 25 mph.

and then of course there's this

Although the new forester is awesome to look at

Hey folks, I have an 05 STi that I just bought a couple weeks ago. I believe it has a Cobb tune that was never unmarried, and no AP came with the car. I'm looking for someone who can help me out by uninstalling their AP from their car, install on mine then immediately uninstall. Therefor unlocking my ECU. I am in the Corning area but I could come to you if you can help. Thanks.

Steve, I have the great idea for you! I have a few options available that may suit your needs turbo wise. I have also been installing alot of the KAMAK/Kinugawa turbos with amazing results.

Let me know your thoughts/goals for now and down the road...

Kid saved almost 11Gs working part time since he was 12, and i dont mean chores around the house for his parents. "My family never really believed in allowances, more if the get a job dumbass family, never got money for helping around the house" If mom was buying the car a 96 would prob be my vote too. But since mommy doesnt just buy cars i wont push him too much over what he gets. His money his choice. "To an extent" haha

lol!!!

He already owns a field car. Thats what he learned to drive on. We keep it at my Uncles sheep farm in hector area.

I did say no turbo models though... One reason he is looking at scoobs of that year is I have a lot of parts. Both stock and aftermarket. He can have all my old stuff so its a winwin. Also I think a nicely built NA could be fun.

Do any of you guys know if matthews is a mod friendly dealership? I have this stupid idle misfire problem, but I'm afraid if I just go in there with a downpipe and tune they will void my warranty or something.

That's a difficult one since the mods could directly be the cause of the idle issue. Usually you're fine if, for example, you put coil overs on then have an engine issue. The mod is obviously not related.

What are the symptoms?

its intermittently misfiring at idle, seems to be random, the idle gets all rough. Recently its been a bit worse and it started throwing codes. P0301, P0302, P0303 and P0304 so all cylinders. It mostly drives fine, sometimes it will have a little hiccup while cruising. Power seems ok, although earlier today it seemed a bit sluggish. This morning I was datalogging the idle and it was really rough, it wasn't getting any better until I shut it and restarted it and after that it was totally smooth. The revs don't seem to drop much, its not burning oil, a/f ratio looks fine. Pretty perplexing. I guess I'll try checking the plugs next but I doubt all 4 would be bad.

this is the log

I think it has to be for 08+, the older ones had a separate sensor on the back.

is it true that if I just unplug them, they will stay open and I can just disable the CELs?

The problem seems to have to do with water getting on the car and humidity. I tried to realign the sensor to make the angle correct and it seemed fine for a while so I drove though a car wash and, the TGV angle started going nuts when the water hit the car and it misfired a few times. Could be a loose wire or something idk.
