Let say I wanted to wire up some extra blubs to brighten up the dim spots. Anyone know where or how to set these up? Specifically, where can I tap the power from?

If you remove the film and just leave the lights then is it white? I am looking for white with red needles.

Also is this the same for an 07?

the bulbs in pre-08 are so small and dim that they glow a yellow-orange. to get white you need different bulbs/lightsource.

I'm not too sure if it's the same with your 02' or not. Check to see if the "top hat" type black pieces under the speedo and tach are completely down. When lifting up the gauge faces, you may have pulled them up a little and they may just need to be seated again.

just to let you know,

this is my cluster:

it looks pretty even cept for the 70...

because of photo exposures, lights like the cluster look more even than they really are. you really have to see things in person.

i just got to thinking...

if i wanted to, i bet i could solder the pots around and switch the faces so i'd have a center tach.

it would probably be balls difficult, but i can't think of a reason why it wouldn't work. of course, the faces would need to be cut to **** and then repositioned.

probably makes more sense to just get an 04 cluster.

well i mean they have those pins that the needle motors sit on, if you just crossed one to the other why wouldn't it work? too sensitive, would the extra wire throw it off? that's the only reason i can see it not working provided the soldering could be precise enough.

How often do people end up with gauges that don't work after attempting this mod? I really want to do it but i'm afraid to mess up my gauges. Also as stated above where can you find some .12" bulb covers? www.partexpress.com discontinued the red.

that's to prove a point that an uneven cluster looks even when photographed.

i don't like mine because it's not all that even.

i used stage gels and clear bulbs and the original sandpaper method.
