Yeah, that was us. She was kicking a** until my wife broke the LSD at the end of the 3rd run. It wasnt her fault, things break. Nature of the beast.

Yep, we won the Integra too. My brother in law and I will dual drive it next year in Stock Front.

I wasn't directing my comment at you, but more in general. Apologies if it seemed like that.

Still, the intro is $895 and while that certainly isn't a trivial amount of money, if you look around at other rally schools that provide a similar experience you'll see comparable prices. That doesn't even take into account that to go to those other schools you'd also have travel and lodging expenses. Doing something like this is like taking a vacation... you save and spend wisely and when you finally do it you have a great experience and memory to look back on.

So yeah, we now have a school in our backyard, and I for one am psyched.

You've got the right idea and attitude. Keep doing what you're doing. Take the Primitive school (more than once if you can) and continue to run rallycross events when you can. The more time you spend behind the wheel, the better you will get.

From the sounds of your post you had trouble with the afternoon course on Saturday (Chehalis). You weren't alone, even experienced stage drivers have difficulty driving in very slick conditions. For that, I'd suggest you also try the Primitive Racing school next March. It normally rains for that one and you get real experience learning to finesse the mud.

Lots of early Imprezas are available on craigslist; and the FWD versions can usually be had for a song.

The Impreza suspension is rock solid and the car naturally wants to go where you point it. I'm biased but I think the early Impreza is the easiest car to learn on with lots of inexpensive aftermarket parts to improve it. Half of my Impreza wagon are parts that WRX owners have taken off when installing aftermarket parts and they practically give them away since they no longer want them (like sway bars, endlinks, strut bars).

See you at the next ORG rallycross if you're going. Look for the blue Impreza
(#44 on the side). Say hello.

Today was an amazing day were myself and a few other NWIC'ers got a personal tour of the DirtFish Rally School from Greg Lund himself. The 300 acre lot has tons of fun looking areas including a gravel skid pad, slalom course, awesome through-the-trees rally passage that can be linked up in different combinations and a very spacious classroom/office area. They're even putting in an indoor gokart track inside one of the old warehouses!

I know that I will for sure be saving up to attend one of their class sessions as it seemed like a blast.

- David Mr_Hox

Oh, and did I mention that I got to attend a little ride along through the slalom course at the end of the tour?

That's Devin/12sechatch in the blue car. Edrach and JasonLHall got even longer runs prior to our quick little jaunt around/over the cones.

I can take the primitive course like 7 times vs. 3 days at dirtfish lol. I have already signed up for the one in october and depending on how it goes at that one I would like to take the winter driving school also as I spend a lot of time in the mountains snowboarding and by no means do I want to be that person off the road because they were to cocky with the AWD. But your idea about the one in march is a good point so I will have to think about that one too, but as its going now it could very likely be raining next month. I was having a very hard time sat. afternoon with the rain adding to the fact that I ran 2nd group afternoon so by then the ruts were pretty well formed. I was not able to cut the corners tight and ended up going like 15ft wide because I had no clue how to correct the understeer in the mud. I also just got new tires a couple weeks ago so hopefully that will help.

As much as I like the DirtFish facility, cost can be a major impediment. Plus I really like learning in my own car so the Primitive school certainly has its place and I'll be going there again. On the other, driving one of the group N cars looks like a thrill and a half. It would make a great birthday or Christmas present!

are you going to be driving your bmw at the Rallx sunday? I will be there and also at the primitive school in october. And don't pay attention to people who bash you for those things listed above always good to see more people interested in rally even if they don't own a subaru

The property was purchased. It is offered Wed-Fri for the 3 day course, and Saturday one day courses, currently.
