Still, the intro is $895 and while that certainly isn't a trivial amount of money, if you look around at other rally schools that provide a similar experience you'll see comparable prices. That doesn't even take into account that to go to those other schools you'd also have travel and lodging expenses. Doing something like this is like taking a vacation... you save and spend wisely and when you finally do it you have a great experience and memory to look back on. So yeah, we now have a school in our backyard, and I for one am psyched. |

From the sounds of your post you had trouble with the afternoon course on Saturday (Chehalis). You weren't alone, even experienced stage drivers have difficulty driving in very slick conditions. For that, I'd suggest you also try the Primitive Racing school next March. It normally rains for that one and you get real experience learning to finesse the mud. |

The Impreza suspension is rock solid and the car naturally wants to go where you point it. I'm biased but I think the early Impreza is the easiest car to learn on with lots of inexpensive aftermarket parts to improve it. Half of my Impreza wagon are parts that WRX owners have taken off when installing aftermarket parts and they practically give them away since they no longer want them (like sway bars, endlinks, strut bars). See you at the next ORG rallycross if you're going. Look for the blue Impreza (#44 on the side). Say hello. |

Today was an amazing day were myself and a few other NWIC'ers got a personal tour of the DirtFish Rally School from Greg Lund himself. The 300 acre lot has tons of fun looking areas including a gravel skid pad, slalom course, awesome through-the-trees rally passage that can be linked up in different combinations and a very spacious classroom/office area. They're even putting in an indoor gokart track inside one of the old warehouses!
I know that I will for sure be saving up to attend one of their class sessions as it seemed like a blast. - David Mr_Hox Oh, and did I mention that I got to attend a little ride along through the slalom course at the end of the tour? That's Devin/12sechatch in the blue car. Edrach and JasonLHall got even longer runs prior to our quick little jaunt around/over the cones. |

As much as I like the DirtFish facility, cost can be a major impediment. Plus I really like learning in my own car so the Primitive school certainly has its place and I'll be going there again. On the other, driving one of the group N cars looks like a thrill and a half. It would make a great birthday or Christmas present!

There are a bunch of great pics from a guy who just went through the school a few days ago here: 09-08-10 DirtFish Rally School
------------ Yes, I joined because of this thread. No, I do not work for DirtFish Rally School - want to though. No, I do not currently own a Subaru. I'll be at the Oregon Rally Group rallycross Sun and am taking the Primative class in Oct. |
