Want to learn how to tune an ECU...and actually do it on a real dyno?
I am taking this class on March 29th in Syracuse, IN. Posting information here in case anyone else is interested. I'm driving down there Friday night from Detroit and returning Sunday morning (I figured I would meet some cool people in class and want to BS for a while after it on Saturday night). I figure it will help me tune my car...
Class brochure: Peak Power When it Counts "March 29, 2003" Mike Waller Consulting Presents a Seminar on "EFI CONTROL SYSTEMS CALIBRATION" Not every high-performance engine technology seminar features an expert speaker, and live calibration stations with engine dynamometers, a portable chassis dynamometer, and stationary vehicle, but here's one that does: "EFI Control System Calibration," an exclusive seminar coming to Syracuse, Indiana Saturday, March 29, 2003. The all-day technical seminar will feature Alan Tehan, owner of Precision Automotive, an automotive service facility for racing and performance vehicles. Tehan will start the day with a lecture and discussion of the latest technology and techniques in engine management systems, including ignition and RPM signals, speed density calibration systems, mapping, formulating ignition "run spark" tables, multipliers (altitude, voltage, temperature, fuel and spark), and more. After lunch, participants will get to experience live calibration stations set up with a chassis dynamometer, engine dynamometers, and stationary vehicles. Delphi ECM's will be used at the calibration stations. In addition to his vehicle and boat system development work, Tehan uses his Masters Degree in teaching to deliver his message when running training programs in electronic fuel injection and EFI systems throughout the world. His contract engineering development business has been actively involved in EFI development for the marine, motorcycle and automotive aftermarket for the past decade, working with a number of racing teams and companies such as Delphi Delco Electronics, GM Performance, GM Racing, John Deere, MasterCraft Boats, Indmar Marine and others. Precision Automotive, 401 West Chicago Street, in Syracuse, IN, will host the seminar, which lasts from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The cost is $250.00 and includes a continental breakfast, lunch and handouts. Class size is limited due to the large number of calibration demonstrations, so early registration is encouraged. Payment by check, VISA or Master Card is due upon registration. To register for the "EFI Control Systems Calibration" seminar, contact Mike Waller at (719) 687-7803 or email [email protected]. Hotel information and a map to the facility will be furnished upon request.

I'd be all over this, but $250 + plane fair + rental car + hotel = $700 and up
Guess I'll just have to wait for something more local. |
