Default installing lsd

hey guys we just came upon this as we are doing our project. just in case any of you out there are thinking of doing the swap. our 99L rear crossmember?( i think) is slightly different than those to the wrx, so if you are going to install the wrx lsd, u also need to get the rear crossmember. unless we made a mistake, the lsd wouldnt fit the L crossmember. just our experience may be wrong.

Nope, your front axles should work. Drive shaft and rear diff will be needed, IIRC. Rear diff is a definite as your AT RS rear diff is 4.44, I believe, and you need a 3.54 rear diff. If you get a 3.54 LSD rear diff, you'll need different rear axles than what are currently on your car.

edit - Oops! Thanks for the correction on the rear diff ratio, Jon. I forgot about the weirdo 1.1:1 center diff.

The driveshaft is a different length between the MT and AT cars so you will need that if you are going to a 5MT. You need to match your rear diff up with your transmission. The WRX rear diff is an unusual bird at 3.54 final drive mating to a 1.1:1 reduction gear and a 3.90 final drive in the front.

Front axles are not needed. Splines are all the same. You would just need to have LSD axles to go with the WRX rear diff.
