The ones from Outback are from the Legacy turbo, they are either black or silver with a "SUBARU TURBO INTERCOOLER" sticker on them. It looks way cool:

The inlet from the turbo is a round tube underneath, so it would be easy to hook up.

You will have to get a pump and heat exchanger for it - I use a Whale GP99 inline pump that I got from WestMarine.com for $55 or so. I use a transmission cooler core mounted behind the grille to be the heat exchanger.

Spearco makes A/W intercoolers to your spec. I may have one made for my SVX turbo. Its designed, I just need to finish the front bumper for a radiator. Why do you want one though? Air to air is much lighter, and the gains might not be that great due to the additional weight of a radiator. If you are adding an ice water reservoir for dragging then the A/W might be better. But for anything else, not worth the money for minimal gains, if any.

Having said that, I will be doing one on my SVX due to space constraints. Barely got the turbo in.

will the air to water reduce substantially lose of boost pressure. Meaning is the inlet distance long enough on the impreza to cause boost pressure degradation.

Can water/alcohol injection solve the problem instead.
