Supposed to be an Upgraded shock sensor. I dunno. For the price I paid for it, and that fact that it goes to invoice attracted me to it.

I heavily debated either going with or with out the bumper cover. At my work, there are about 18 or so dealers all in the circle. 4 newer STI's and WRX's. Coincidentally, 2 have the cover and two don't. I went with it.

Ordered my SWP 4 door on 16 Mar 2013 and they told me July. It hasn't been 2 weeks and I'm already very anxious. I'll probably be the only female in my area with an STI but thats something I'll be happy about. Here is an idea of what I ordered with mine. Any input is appreciated.

SPT exhaust
Homelink mirror and compass
10 in Sub
Short throw shifter

I thought most of the add on accessory's was over priced or easily put on in near future. I plan on purchasing Rally Armor mud flaps and Debadging when it arrives.

Yea. I'm at 6 weeks and very anxious. Where do you live at? Please fill out your profile so we can find more out about you.

Personally, I would cancel the spt short throw its one of the biggest waste of money. It's practically the exact same length as the stock throw. My current 06 has it and my buddy's stock 08 does not.. It's the exact same throw distance. Just take it off and buy yourself an aftermarket one. Check rallysportdirect.com they have good prices and you can get your mud flaps from there too!

Thanks for the info! But wouldnt it be a little late to cancel now? Plus, I dont have a clue how to put in a short throw myself, or the confidence in many others. lol. I'll have to look into it.

No it's not too late, you can contact the dealer and let them know which parts you want to add or remove and they'll send it over right away. And a short throw definitely isn't easy. Just purchase one and see if a local shop can do it for you for cheap! Also don't forget the bushings with it!!

You belong to the MAIC Chapter, however, you may want to check out MWSOC as you are a lot closer to Ohio and Kentucky. We have many shops out here that can help you with whatever you are looking to do and I am sure, MWSOC has some within reasonable distance to go to for help as well.

Definitely agree here!

One last thing BlackCrimson, here's a link to probably the most common short throw with a bushing kit:

http://www2.kartboy.com/x4/product.p...cat=257&page=1

Here's a link to MWSOC:

I would go peak around and see who is closest to you and then check out some Vendor Reviews, here:

I test drove two base 2013 WRX's with and with out the STi short shifter and bushing. The throw is not a lot shorter, but it is definitely shorter.

More importantly though, is that STi shifter felt more precise over stock which felt kinda rubbery in comparison. It's probably the bushing more than anything else.

Considering my last car was FWD with a cable actuated shifter, anything with a proper linkage feels amazing in comparison.

The car I bought came with it, but I don't think I would have optioned it if it didn't and instead would have went with a Kartboy, because I know Tom and he's a great guy.

I guess what I'm trying to say is that, is the spt short throw with bushings worth the $450? I don't think so.

In and of itself, yes.

However, if it means living with it to get a good deal on a car that is available inventory it's not so bad. I effectively did not pay much if at all for mine based on the lease offer I got compared to a car I'd have to order without it.

Well I most definitely agree with you if it's currently on the car because like I said my current 06 came with it so negotiating a deal and having the available option is one thing. But ordering it aside on your own, probably wouldn't be the smartest decision.

Yay!!!!! My dealer just called me to inform me that we got a VIN!!! He gave me a tentative ETA of late April early May. Just as a reminder, I ordered on December nineteenth, and assuming I receive the car the last week of April at the earliest, it's gonna make it an approximate 19 week wait, going on 20 21 22 if I'm waiting into May.

PBS 5 Door w/ nav, exhaust, shifter, woofer, mats, home link, wheel locks, rear bumper cover. It's probably easier to list what I didn't get, haha.

Lol, I'd say!

I'm surprised yours took that long. It is usually the white sti's with NAVI that take a hot minute.

What if yours was sitting at the port from 2 months waiting on wheel locks

With my luck, it was probably something silly like that, so maybe it'll come in faster than expected, wishful thinking and happy waiting.

Another update today! So I broke my word and emailed my dealer after getting my VIN about a month ago...

Order placed in SNE (VIN # not provided until car lands stateside):1/5/13
1st ETA: Late April 2013
2nd ETA (days after order, I made February allocation): 2/15/13?!?

MY CAR HIT PORT "a few days ago" and "should be at the dealer soon". So this means I should have it within 2 week!

Current ETA: April 10th, 2013

My dealer informed me that the bushing that is an extra $25 bucks doesn't even get installed with the Short throw. He said he didn't understand why they sent it bc it doesn't get installed. So the dealer puts it in when it arrives?

Yes it is a dealer installed option. At least that is what my dealer told me.

So I have a VON and order sheet says March allocation and estimated ETA of March 2013. I'm seeing some of the posts above say February allocation with April 2013 ETA. Does that make sense or should I be worrying about this dealer with a March ETA?

Seems about right. I ordered on 1/14 and have a delivery ETA of 4/16. I'm here in Colorado and my car will be coming in through the Richmond, CA Port.
